At one point Sadler ran most of the DAF marques 2300/2500/2700/2800/3300/95
have u got any photos of trans euro from wembley the had a fleet of dafs thanks mrdaf
A few from my collection that I have driven over the years - still think to old 2800 / 3300 / 3600 space cab was one of the best looking trucks about.
Here’s one that has made the preservation scene - the 2800 owned by a good friend of mine.

And another! Despite appearances, actually seen on the public road this week!
I don’t suppose anyone would happen to have one of a Stardes DAF with the original more discreet (plain prussian blue / silver stripe) livery, from the very early nineties?
Thanks!
I’d do anything for a drive of a 2800/3300 or a 95 series. Trucks I’ve grown up with but sadly was far too small at the time to even reach the pedals.

Great pics guys !!! They took me back awhile.
I used to do groupage to Vienna for Davies Turner in a 2800 DAF, but I never got to drive any of the bigger ones
IMHO, the 2800 was a good truck.
nvr got my head around the 2 ■■■■■ bits of glass each side o the screen?
only drove a 2100,nice box n very moveable…bit like the wife at the time…but time takes its toll
Great photos mate they bring back a lot of good memories .i learnt to drive in a 2100 Daf and have driven Dafs for over 20 years now, best trucks eveer made !
Harry when i worked for Visbeen iwas told that an older member of the family ,Ardreas uncle i beleave designed the cab and the inside layout of the cab for the 2800 and 3300s ?. He used to come in to the canteen every morning for coffie but didint speak much english and my Dutch isnt to good so i neather got to ask him .
Also theres big changes in high management taking place there soon ,looks like things are passing to the next genaration of the family.

David Rodger’s started off as an owner driver with a 2300 DAF.
The space cab was the first one he had,he ran a fleet of 5 or 6 trucks almost exclusively on CCC,all DAF’s.
David himself could sometimes be seen piloting one of the trucks, despite his disablity of only having one and a half arms!

The Harper Trucking DAF was Peter Harper’s second DAF,his first was a 2800 which was featured in a TRUCK special (I’ll try and dig it out and scan it) because he’d had it customised inside and out, although very tame by today’s standards.
Peter also ran an old 240 Volvo F88 in the same colours for a while.
He pulled containers exclusively for OOCL out of Felixstowe.
He had a regular driver on the 3600,a guy called John, who one day was tipping a box down at Dagenham Storage.Peter had fitted a catalytic gas heater in the truck, and John tried to light it up in Dagenham, with explosive results! John was ok,but the blast blew the windsreen clean out.
Peter retired to Spain several years ago.

this is what i used to have and it was a class truck a 380 if i remember rightly…
it used to outpull the xf’s out of felix with a full load on… overtaking the xf on orwell bridge.
then i got this…
i used to wash and polish it everyday if i had the chance…
and the xf’s never stood a chance against this one. in fact all longs ssc used to fly.
Here’s a better pic of David Rogers Space Cab…
Im waiting for someone to post a pic of my mates truck.
It was a day cab 3600 from Charles Alexander. The unusual thing was that it did 2 trips to Istanbul until we had time to chop the cab in half and weld a sleeper on Even then it did 2 trips with white doors & front and a dark blue roof and side panels before we painted it.
There must also be some pictures of my 3300ATI as it was in a DAF brochure and we also came 2nd to Daysons of Carlisle at Pickering or Wetherby
