Was the photo up load problem related to you gear box issue? May be you’ll have to get the computer towed as well

Jeff…

Great pics again Danne :sunglasses: What happened to the gearbox, it didn’t shift anymore?

Patrick

No it didint,it was the wire into the gearbox that had come loose inside of the box. And because of the retarder the easiest way to fix it was to take the gearbox down. But the truck is falling to bits more or less everyday. This week i tillted the cab 6 times… Hope your week was bettre!

Puncture on the steer 11.30 pm Friday night in a very remote location… tyre fitted got lost trying to find it so I had to walk 4 k’s through the coup to the logging trail to find him… And it was raining… 3 am before the tire fitter got started… 7 am before I got back to the wood yard…
Blew the seal on the main ram on the loader as well…

Happy days…

Jeff

When I hear stories like yours Jelliot I’m happy we carry our own spears with us. Even though no steer but drive axle tire will fit there to get me home. So much better than having to wait hours for the tire guy

When going to Tromsö from Helsinki you go all the way up to the border at Kilpisjärvi on the Finish side (thankfully if you ask me since I would say the roads have better maintenance in the winter and no salt is used (thankfully again) on e8 after Torneå compared to the e10 nowdays)

One of the reasons we still run duel wheels through out ( with exception to the steer ) is if we get a flat on one of the duels we just walk it home steady…
The company insurance insists that all the wheels a correctly torqued correctly and the only way to do that is to have the tire guy come out and do it for you… Also some of the places we go you really wouldn’t want to get involved in changing wheels… I’d be fairly happy doing it my self… but some of the other drivers ( steering wheel attendants ) not a good idea…We get paid by the hour… so not to bad.

In all my time in trucks, I’ve only had 2 steer tires go flat on me…

Jeff…

Never had a steer tire go flat yet. 2 drive and 2 trailer wheels on the account so far, 2 of them in one day yehaa, 3h between. Been back on the road after about 35-40min and if not I would had have to sit for 6-7h 2 times I guess in the middle of nowhere  . We do run dual on the tag but that’s mainly because they are so much steadier and safer to drive in the winter.

love this thread. proper drivers talking about proper jobs with proper lorry’s. reminds my of the old days, keep it up boys

Hi! Yeah i had singel on the tag when i started on tankcontainers and then got dual on the nexy unit and what a diffrens it was! So boss newer had a singel tag since!
And i only had one front tyre go. One of my first job 19years old had a F12 drawbar 24 meter from 1986 and did Stockholm-Malmö Malmö-Stockholm three trips every week sunday night to saturday morning. Well one night the left from tyre said goodbye i almoste whent of the road on the wrong side,i really had to work it to get it back on the right side again…
