So who's met an ESL driver who isn't a cunt worth torching?

I work for Samworth Brothers and we always get the mickey took out of us for wearing ties

I always smile when I’m doing exactly 50 mph on a DC and one of you lads overtakes me. What makes me smile is the fact that Samworths have “Quality is a way of life” proudly emblazoned on their lorries yet they happily allow the drivers to continually break the law. Similarly you have the likes of A V Dawsons who wander round with “Setting the standards” on their wagons and do just the same.

Perhaps my idea of quality and standards differ from others…

Ditto stobart and their inability to do 40 on single carriageway.

Aren’t Samworth’s wagons restricted to 52 any way  Hardly a hanging offence on a DC.
You blokes should (if you don’t already) go work for tesco, then you can drive at a smug 32 mph on all roads.

Its the stobart attitude I dont like. Were better then u give in it large! Like he sed hes just another elf, without him the world would come to an end.

elaborate jack knife! I work for them out of Trafford park and it’s a piece of p1$$! :sunglasses: I shall tell you this about them as a DRIVER of 23 years r kid, once these managers get back facts about tacho regs and hours and proved wrong, they disappear with their tails between their legs! They treat drivers as dogmuck on the bottom of their shoes as we are easy targets but what they seem to forget as in any walk of life, once promoted be nice to those below you, as when you fall we’ll kick you twice as hard! Every fortnight paid £1100- £1200 after tax I couldn’t give a monkeys when they start shouting and balling! I tell them this" I have the keys to the Swedish loveshack, and it’ll get there when I do! " :grimacing: :grimacing: Stobarts is easy, easy money easy life! :sunglasses: IT DOESN’T MATTER WHO YOU WORK FOR, IF YOU AIN’T HAPPY, MOVE ON AND GET A BETTER JOB! K.I.S.S = keep it simple stupid :grimacing: :grimacing:

My favourite quote from a Stobart driver was yours when you said…“work for Stobarts, so pretty much a job for life”

did i say that     ,

Nowt to do with the company or the trucks, that’ll be the drivers, who would still speed in any other company’s trucks, you just wouldn’t notice a plain white unit with a rented trailer speeding, or be able to ‘stereotype’ them all, bet you’re racist too, because you can spot the difference there :imp:

Currently on agency for Stobart, truck is a piece of junk basic crappy Scumia or Volvo, planners seem friendly on the phone but have a habit of not getting things right straight away - pick up a load that’s been collected 12hrs ago etc.

Some of the staff are up their own arse knob heads, particularly a little muppet who decided to have a go at me because my hi vis coat has grease stains on it, I do a lot of trailer swaps and a lot of close couple work for a lot of other firms that aren’t Stobarts and pay for my own gear, so if it’s warm, dry and ticks the boxes, it gets wore for work.

Job is no easier or harder than anywhere else I’ve worked, most of the trailers are looked after and curtains open easily and bars slide easily, but not all, and a lot of the trailers are so basic that they only ratchet at the front, not bad for 1 hitters, but ■■■■■ for multi-drop.

I’ve worked for a LOT of firms, both agency and full time, and I can say that on the whole, they’re just another truck company.

Couldn’t give a ■■■■ what name is on the top of the wage slip, as long as I get 1 and the figures are right

I can understand this anti Stobart sentiment.

After all, most of us take home around £1200 a fortnight. The work’s is long hours but ok, and, we get to drive nice kit in our smart uniforms. I think my Volvo is great and you can usually bank on some totty wanting her photo taken in front of my regularly washed shiny truck at least once a week. I would imagine this grates on some of you.

We also get tipped before everyone else in DC’s as we’re considerably better than you, even if you won’t flash us in :grimacing:

And we’re on the telly, unlike you.

oop!! Mo, you’re a ■■■■■■’ moron mate, and I hope we meet, hell, I hope you try and tell me to move before my break is up so you can park up you self important fat ■■■■■ cause I’d sit you on your arse.
I’m in Stobarts all this week as a tramper, I’ll post up what truck I’m in when I get a chance tomorrow so you can keep and eye out for me and put my threat to the test.
I never said it was grease covered you muppet, I said it’s got grease stains, there’s a difference, it’s not going to spread grease everywhere because it gets washed, but the stains won’t come out.
I DO NOT steal gloves, and most agency drivers don’t either, you’re making accusations against people you don’t know and are asking for a smack.
I’ve not damaged a truck in years, and the last was a broken suzi, regretfull but nobody’s perfect.
Every Stobart truck I’ve driven has been damaged BEFORE I’ve got into it, not bad for such a perfect bunch.
I have my own digi rolls too, thanks
I carry my own bedding too thanks

Hopefully I’ll see you through the week you arrogant ugly fat ■■■■■■■ and see what you say to my face :smiling_imp:

Pick me up on the way into your shift? PLEASE…I soooo wanna see that! :sunglasses:

And me…well said Wayne. :sunglasses:

Certainly seems to get the blood boiling a good old Stobart thread. I only ever talked to one Stobart lad, I was filling up at Lymm and he was filling up next to me. I politely said good morning and he replied by saying “Don’t mention the tie, I don’t like wearing the bloody thing either”. I had to laugh but I wasn’t going to say anything about his tie, this must have been around the time the tie thing started. He had obviously had some stick and expected it from every other driver he met, he was no different to any other driver and we had a short conversation and that was about it, I had then and since no thoughts about drivers of Stobarts, they were doing a job the same as me. Good luck to anybody that can do the job today for any company, it was all I wanted to do once but I wouldn’t go near it now and if there had of been a Stobart depot near me wanting drivers when I was desperate for work a long time ago I would have been straight in there and sod anybody else! Franky.

I saw 3 blokes kicking the crap out of a Stobarts driver once. “Aren’t you gonna help?” Some old woman asked me.
I said…“Nah, 3 should be enough!”

Nothing to do with the company? The vehicles don’t have the isotrack system? The company don’t have the wherewithal to monitor drivers exceeding the speed limit? Yes the drivers would speed no matter who they drove for but the company could create a culture where it is unacceptable. It isn’t just Stobarts who have lead footed drivers but you don’t see Fowler Welch or Royal Mail parading around on TV holding themselves up to be paragons of virtue. And no I’m not racist, I form opinions based on the evidence of my experiences, and being based not far from Crick I see appalling driving from Stobarts drivers on a daily basis, I also see it from my colleagues but we don’t go on tv pretending to be whiter than white.

I know it’s been said, but I’ll say it again.
Stobart has many drivers and like all haulage companies or even other places I’ve worked, they’ll be a cross section of people.
Some I’ll like, some I’ll tolerate, and others I’d pour petrol on if they were on fire.

The only Stobart drivers I’ve really had anything to do with were the ones doing the F1 for Mercedes. They were good guys, didn’t get off on the whole Stobarts F1 thing, and got on with the job and would buy a beer or 2 and have a chat about something other than being in F1 or at Stobarts.

ive seen threads on here about stobart trucks roaring past other trucks in heavy fog,ive seen threads where drivers are asking why all of a sudden stobart trucks have all slowed down, ive seen posts where drivers are moaning about being held up by stobart trucks doing 35 mph,ive seen posters suggesting that all stobart drivers should slow down due to gauranteed hours cuts, now youre saying weve all got lead feet, lets be honest if i did the limits everywhere[which i actually do as im not getting a £60 fine/3 panalty points whilst driving a company truck] you still have me down as a raving lunatic causing mayhem out on the roads :unamused: :unamused: .and then the next poster would be moaning like zb id held him up for 30 miles whilst strining the job out,30 mph, lets try and get some consistant facts for crying out loud, :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

ill let you into a secret....firm i work for have had a load of new trucks, but agy werent allowed to drive them, untill three months down the line when they`ve started to get knocked around a bit…low and behold now agy are driving them so we can take the blame
this time last year i was a stobart driver and…in fact ■■■■ you,why should i bother trying to justify my actions to a ■■■■ like you.
