I hope this doesnā€™t end up like that thread earlier in the year about the dutch tanker company, where it ended with some drivers going in eyes wide shut :open_mouth:

Canā€™t speak for anyone else but i have a fair idea of what i would be getting into.

I have seen their pay structureā€¦nothing too radical there.

I know i am not going to rich working for themā€¦but i would hope that i am going to earn more than Ā£72 a week which i currently get off the doleā€¦which considering my rent is Ā£100 a week is a bit of a problem!

Itā€™s a case of doing what i need to do until something better comes alongā€¦if it does.

Everyone that quotes their GiroCheque as their total earnings is so deluded.

You get HB and CTB. Child Benefit and CTC if you have kids.

Most people that claim social get a good deal.

You canā€™t always get benefits other than the dole if youā€™re unemployed. If your partner works more than 20 hours a week it restricts what you can claim for

What i get in HB doesnā€™t cover my rentā€¦so i still have to find the shortfall out of my dole money!

The perils of moving out of social housing into private accommodation based on having a good job at the timeā€¦

Trust me, claiming social and a good deal are poles apart.

Dan, it depends. You can be away for a long while, or kip in the yard when you are back (quite a few of the lads do that) or ask for a Monday load near where you live (a few do that as well). HTH
