Very interesting photos Mr Dunbar, thank you for sharing them. I remember the company but I didn’t realise that it had such a variety of work, judging by the different types and sizes it operated. The obvious question then is, why did the company cease trading?

Very patriotic even in those days Larry, flying the good old Union Jack over the Garage ! Brilliant and ahead of the times back then eh! I bet your Great Uncle wouldn’t hear of flying the EU rubbish flag if was to come back to this World now ! Cheers Dennis.

This is him with two of his sons Fred & Earl, How things have changed over the years of haulage, Smiles IMO were way ahead of any north east haulier in those days, Regards Larry.

Your Uncle Bob looks like a proper old no nonsence, get on with the job Lorry driver Larry! Puts me in mind of my Dad on Mobil Oil, Boiler-suit in winter & jacket & trousers in the summer but always went to work wearing a tie! Proud men! Chris

Aye thanks Dan, My Great uncle Bob was even smarter when he went out dressed, I was told that he was a real Ladies man in those days, He used to put it about a bit, His wife died a a very young age & there was no children, He then went on to enjoy like once again as us owld wagon drivers do Or hope to do :laughing: :laughing: :laughing: , , You are looking very fit there Dan, It must be the mushrooms, :wink: :wink: :wink: , Regards Larry.

That’s another nice old photo. What are they carrying Larry and who was the manufacturer,do you know?
I thought it may have been Head Wrightson but it isn’t on further inspection.
