Last week I got a letter from Slough branch of Driver Hire (in Colnbrook outside Heathrow airport) telling me that as I’d worked there ‘historically’, I should give them a ring as all the ‘dynamics’ have changed there. Anyone out there works for them and knows what that means? New management, new staff? I did work there in the past but they got me my first ever class 1 job and it didn’t end well, but I’ve had more experience since.
no sorry but will follow this thread with interest as I’ve recently ‘returned’ to class 1 driving and don’t know what agencies are like these days. Well, I know they are not very much liked in general 
but still, it’s all I can do ‘for now’ as I have a full time job and just need ‘ad-hoc shifts’.
I have signed up with Manpower in Slough, went for an assessment with Royal Mail and doing my first shift on wednesday with them.
The sign up process and assessment have been a very good experience so far, we will see the rest as I go along.
never been a fan of driverhire, have worked for manpower and did royal mail which other than nights I loved.
the trouble is people judge an agency of 60 branches on one experience, and in life you get tossers in all different places.
