A mate, with a C+E, has so far not done anything for his Dcpc. He will be out of the country from August till January.
If he does it in Jan, does it run till Sept 2019 or Jan 2020?

My understanding of the situation is any DCPC cards issued before September will be valid for 5 years from September, any completed after September would be valid for 5 years from the date issued. So if your mate got his card in January 2015 then it will be valid until January 2020. But I could be wrong, I usually am.
As dreamingofoz said If he does the 35 hours DCPC training in January he will be covered for five years from that date, so he’ll have a valid DQC card until January 2020.
