There is some lane closures and a contraflow lane on the A40 around Park Royal, the outside lane each way is signed with a height limit of 6’6 / 2m.
I may be missing something but every other time I can think of a lane closure and reduced speed limit its a width limit for the outside lane, so I am inclined to assume the signwriter has made a slight error.
Hate to be picky your post says

There’s hell of a lot of difference between a height limit and width limit

That’s the question! [emoji849]
The signs say height, but the op believes they must mean width.
Hope that’s cleared it up ?

We don’t want things clearing up on this forum-we wait for Carryfast and Winseer to explain things to us in some depth.
