Not likeing these side pipes that you see on lorrys at the moment, prefer a nice set of eminox or other vertical exhaust. Also are these straight through pipes not sapping power as even race exhaust systems have some back pressure, are they bad for the motor?

ye straight through does use more fuel on my truck
My pet hate with vertical pipes.
Is when you see someone pulling a box or curtain trailer, and the pipes don`t clear the top of the trailer, resulting in the side, & top corner of the trailer getting covered in soot etc

Mine too, nothing worse than a clean white trailer with Dirty Corner/s…
Side pipes sound the Bizness though and some look like Spitfire side bits on the nose. Sweeeeet.
Although you can’t beat a spanking chrome set of Eminox with the American caps on the top for a bit of DUAL revvvving! They don’t wear the age well though and look like they need to be put out of their misery on some older trucks…

i used to drive a 03 plate globetrotter 460 an it had an upright exhaust an the cap on the top came loose an my god did it rattle like ■■■■ !! took it off in the end but was left with black ■■■■■ all over the side of the cab every day !!!
Lol, this is of course in an “ideal world” without rattles.
Think single verticle stacks look a bit off, need 2 for symmetry, bit of OCD you see.

I agree, but if the air intakes on one side then a single stack on the other evens it out.
Im not surprised they use more diesel the way some drivers drive trucks with them fitted.I watched a driver come in to Lym truck stop,he must have changed up through every gear blipping the throttle between every change, and he had only travelled the length of the lorry park.(■■■■■■■■■)

Not half an hour ago I was driving North up the A34 out of Newcastle in my car when I pulled up at a set of lights next to a Scanny 164.
Although I’m not a big Scanny fan, when he pulled away, the burble from those twin straight throughs made me almost cream my jeans!
Who needs to go home at night when you can wake up every morning just eager to get on the loud pedal?
Theres a video on you tube of one reving up at truckfest scotland, 6x2tag topline blue and white cab and its got both verticals and side pipes, did they have a sale on?. Seen a clio bilabong once with 4x exhausts, maybe now the guys got a lorry!
The only thing to add is that loud exhausts on cars and motorbikes are crap (except harley davidson type loud), only trucks should have load 'zausts.
i think there is nothing nicer than hearing a irish scania v8 going through the docks with the side pipes on the nicest note ever !
