Often the management will say it’s legal just to keep to delivery deadlines, how many in management have any form of qualifications?
As someone said earlier if they were originally fitted they are usually fitted to comply with a legal requirement. Yes some companies do bling the trucks with extra lights but they tend to want everything working to maintain the look .
The worst I had was a tilt and slide recovery truck whose side light/markers were on long arms that would eat bulbs on an almost daily basis .
