Does anyone do any side gigs on the weekend to supplement their income? Any sort of off the books cash in hand type work perhaps? I need ideas…
Lounging around saturday and sunday isn’t making me any money

Occasionally do minor mechanical jobs for mates but nothing regular. Getting in to the season where I’ll be spending every first morning at home dropping off wine.
Queue the saddos to come and tell you that you must put it on the tacho as other work.
I do naked hoovering and dusting on a sunday…and it really does pay well, in fact i earn more on a sunday than i do for a weeks work…am wondering whether to do it full time.

More to life than working mate. Nobody ever asked to have “Wish I could have worked more” carved on their headstone when they died but plenty have died wishing they’d worked less and spent more time with family, friends and enjoying life.

lol
I was thinking of joining an agency as a van driver (off tacho) and doing weekend work that way. Or just searching on indeed.com for weekend van work. Is it possible for an employer to flag up that I’m working two jobs?

You know this anyway (or at least you SHOULD know) but work is work, whether it falls under the scope of tacho or not. And when you’re working, you’re not resting. So by working when you should be taking a legal rest period, you’re breaking the law. It’s fine until you get caught; and if you’re doing it on the books you will. Any reputable agency will ask you to sign a declaration that you have taken the necessary legal rest periods.
It really is as simple as that. And if you can’t make ends meet in the job you’re currently in , you need to either have a different job or start living within your means.

Your employer might not be able to flag it up but if you’re ever involved in a serious accident where you’re suspected of being at fault the investigators will have no problem finding out you’ve got two incomes. So if you’re working Monday to Friday at your main employer it’s obvious you’re working on your weekend rest days elsewhere.
You’ll have plenty of time to see the error of your ways while you serve your sentence.
I buy and sell car parts as another source of income mainly for fast Ford’s. Have done since I was about 18. Taking pictures and listing things on the internet isn’t really work so I don’t see it as infringing on my rest period.

Better to ask the questions anonymously on the internet first then…

That’s the sort of response I was looking for

If you do something like that you should be okay, because it’s off the radar; same with doing car boots etc. Better still if you do it in the wife’s name or similar.
Good luck to you mate, sometimes we have to earn that bit more, and whilst you’re young is the time to do it.
I’ve had mates who have made good sidelines in window cleaning, gardening, diy kitchen fitting painting and decorating etc, there’s some work to be had out there once you get known as straight and reliable, start on small jobs so if your customer is a scammer/non payer you’ve lost only a little time/material.
Or buy the odd car on spares or reapers fixing and sell on, though the EE lads are into this so you’ll have to be quick to get the cheapy that needs fixing up.
I buy old cars and bikes.
Spend lots of time and money on eBay buying parts, and weekends fixing and tarting `em up.
I now could do with another income to cover the huge losses I make. Lounging around all weekend is cheaper.

Amen to that, half way through a motorbike project I try to forget about half the stuff Ive bought for it so I can sleep at night.
I do Refereeing over my weekends, 2-3 games at £35/40 a game and something i enjoy
I teach sailing and stuff outside of work hours, not much cash but good fun.
So, should I put it on “other work” rest periods and all that baloney?
Or, when I’m home on the occasional weekend , it’s hard graft keeping our farm up to scratch.
Same applies here, other work…
Bugger it, it’s fun so no, not other work

Problem have if you join an agency want do courier work . Deliver amazon parcels etc at weekend. Aganecy might ask for a reference and contact your employer then you’d be found out. Don’t exist now. But years ago I did Kleenze of a weekend used make about 50 a weekend. Did few carboots . Gardening etc.i was doing 7 days a week. I.did it for about a year. As was saving up for my.place. soon as got my foot on the ladder I binned all the weekend working. As didn’t need to. 5 days a week is more than enough now .
Takeaway delivery driving so a mate told me. [emoji3]

Become an uber taxi driver. Pays prob rubbish. Bit think you pick and choose when you want to work
How about becoming a Gigalo or manwhore?
Edit: with the physique of the average trucker, I suspect it would be easier to become a teletubby
