Its surprising how many twenty plus vehicle fleets are in Shropshire these days. The likes of Ford’s of Wem and Trevor Pye. Also Derek Marston, Steve Swain and lots of others are running a fair number of vehicles.

I was talking to her back in the early 90s, she sold the kit and think the scania was sprayed black, I might be wrong.

Hi Dave yes there’s still quite a lot of big firms here . Grocontinal at Whitchurch is another . Mind you they are not as big as Swains of Stretton , Lloyds of Ludlow , Cadies from Oswestry and D & N Morgans from Craven Arms . They were every where when I was younger ! Also Dai there was an article in one of my truck magazines some where about the lady trucker with her pink 142 one day I will have to find it for you . Tony

Hi Tony,
I have read the article about Kay Phillips and her pink Scania. I saw an article last week that Grocontinental are seeking planning permission to expand their business premises which will provide more jobs, which will possibly be more vehicles.
Lloyds Animal Feed and Wynnstay Farmers both run big fleets on their work.
D R & A Ford run about forty motors and appear to be growing in numbers. Also Pentons and Maidens of Telford run quite a few.
