They haven’t got a snowball’s of getting it, going rate is less than a tenth of the asking price.
Yep, it looks like a very low miles well looked after car.
But the price? Being sold as a “work of art” or "collectors piece" isnt it?
Not summat to actually drive, and do that driving, off road!
Pretty looking, and probably sounds nice, but not for me, thanks.
Pre Covid I was looking at buying in Aus and doing a retirement run there. Looked at Toyotas mostly.
The Colorado 95 Ive just posted is still in my drive here...well its on the lawn…but Ive recently bought another Toy. Ill try to get a few pics to put up here.

Toyota are overpriced, consider Triton (Mitsubishi).
If you manage to pull it off, Land Rover is worth looking at for the assistance and camaraderie alone. I’ll organise you an introduction to the Landy community, I guarantee you won’t have to pay for accommodation anywhere and will be overrun with folk prepared to help in the event of mishap or mechanical issue. Plenty will be happy to show you the bits, most tourists never get to see.
Star down under.:

Lovely thought, thanks.
With the current situation…hhmmm…
Ive now bought another Toy to use nearer home. Had two trips put on ice already. Toys are dear, but do hold their price well, so the cost over a few years shouldnt be too bad.
Ive had a Rangie P38 with the Beemer diesel in, and an older Disco with the 300Tdi. Both enjoyable. 4 diesel Mitsis. One was a bit rusty but all good drives.
One Toy 95 as posted but now a proper `Cruiser as well…Will post later. Honest. (As you say not at all cheap…)
Carryfast:
Firstly this isn’t the outback and petrol Range Rovers and Discos are in more demand and worth a lot more than diesels ‘here’ at least.
Your original link was to a YouTube about “overlanding”…not a link about driving Chelsea tractors between different home counties fuel stops!
Now a link showing that low mileage petrol Rangies have a higher asking price than a diesel Disco…
And this:
Carryfast:
costs of maintaining an OHC turbo diesel exceed any fuel savings…
Ohh…I can`t be arsed…
The link I posted proved that big petrol V8 and serious off roading/over landing isn’t mutually exclusive bearing in mind that there was no such thing as a diesel Range Rover.
You seem to have issues with the truth that all types of diesels are increasingly seen as an economic liability in the UK new and used car markets.
Define low mileage. At the end of the day it’s a 21 year old motor with around average mileage on it.The truth is it’s got the best spec of decent push rod petrol V8 and manual box.Nothing to do with its mileage all of which would be moot anyway if the demand was for diesels more than petrol. autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202108246580444
““This Land Rover is one of just two ‘prototype’ Discovery…””
Under 3k for a V8 with MoT and under average miles. Fill yer boots!
Yep one of two …which more than coincidence are V8 manual spec not diesel and/or auto.Do really think they’d get close to that price for a diesel or even V8 auto.
Obviously way too expensive to buy for an LS conversion… unlike a manual diesel.
Now try to find a decent V8 manual for less than 3k, even with a knackered motor, to make the job worth doing on one… instead of a diesel.
The fact is there is a hierachy of Disco and Range Rover values and pushrod V8 manual box is at the top of it.
Diesel auto box is at the bottom.
See if these upload.
HZJ75 Troopy, with pop-top by Roy Creations. 4.2 NA diesel straight 6 with manual box (no auto option of course).
Running 285/75/16. Under 130k km.
The bonnet stickers and paintwork are original.
A bit of overkill on the supermarket run.
I reckon this`d count as a true “Q-Car”?
Low mileage BMW 3 Series compact, on sale now. motor1.com/news/556001/bmw- … -v12-sale/
A bit of OTT fun for someone there!
My current steed. 2nd one I’ve owned. Liked the first one so much that I replaced it with an identical car.
Hunted the lowest mileage, best history, best condition one I could find and bought it.

Nice! What is it? How many miles a year do you do?
