I am a new driver in my first job
This is the air bag on the lift wheel, it’s making a horrendous noise as well as being split.
Company told me it’s ok to drive as it’s only the lift wheel air bag as long as you leave the lift wheel down.
I said no.
I’m under increasing pressure to drive it. Am I right?
I wouldn’t wanna get pulled by dvsa driving that!!
Weight permitting it may be legal to drive if the axle was fixed in the raised position but I’m not sure about that, I don’t believe there’s any way you should drive that with the wheels down.
No as the sound is air escaping and the compressor may have trouble keeping up
Flatly refuse to drive till fixed or crimp off air line
Cheers guys, the truck is now in for repair. I knew I shouldn’t drive it, but just wanted some reassurance I was right as was coming under pressure to use it and being a newbie it was quite hard to resist
