No mate, those pics were brought round for me last week by my mate who was a foreman at Norfolk Line until they moved from Yarmouth to Felixtowe in 1992. They were probably taken by a crew member or maybe a driver. The red and white equipment would have belonged to Nowsco ( now BJ Services ) who use all sorts of hazardous materials as they are an offshore drilling support company. This gear would have been loaded on a flat trailer and placed on the ship as deck cargo.
I came across another photo of the clear-up, I think it was the same incident I’m not 100% sure. Cheers Haddy Gt. Yarmouth.

I’m glad I wern’t on that one! We used to deliver to Nowsco back in the 80’s (part of BOC?) they used to have all kinds of weird stuff, from bags and drums of hazardous chemicals, oil, steelwork, timber and, would you believe milk (and it looks like a bit of everything on that cargo deck)

Fond this photo in a album that belonged to my dad not sure about the year says its 82 he was working for Powerscreen out of Warrington (Stretton ) pulling machine,s that were made just outside Belfast, Ship could have been The Antrim Princess ■■ Also some he took in Zeebrugge not very good photo,s, The photo with the green Merc on it was taken in Dun Laoghire (hope the spelling is right) waiting to clear after arriving from Holyhead

1Hi all now this was not classed as a ship but was christened " The Love Boat " shipping out on this on a friday night Southampton / Cherbourg was the hot ticket to have especially in the summer, quite a few conquests were made on her.
Cheers Buzzer.

I have a few memories of this boat too. Sadly she’s just been beached at Alang on Nov 30th and is being scrapped after being left to rot in Singapore harbour for the last 4 years

Pride of Calais is now in TEF hands and re-named Ostend Spirt and did her berthing trials in Ramsgate and Oostende yesterday, shes to get brought up to (or down to :open_mouth: ) TEF standards and colours in Antwerp and will enter service mid Jan '13
The Pride of Dover is still uncertain, rumour on another forum is that she’ll be re-engined and re-fitted and take up TEF service next to her sister whilst the Larkspur and Gardenia will be sold for scrap to pay for it.

I hope the Dover is given another lease of life it’s the first boat I can remember crossing the channel on around 23 yrs ago.

They have already been sold to Eurotunnel who chartered them to MyFerryLink

Big excitement here in Kent, Pride of Calais has been renamed Ostend Spirit and has been chartered By Trans Europa for their Ramsgate - Ostend service!

Even more excitement is that Pride of Dover is being towed to Turkey, I think for scrap but everyone else thinks she is going to be re-engined and will join her sister as Ramsgate Spirit!

Just got three more stables to muck out, and a couple of trips with the old Massey up to the muck heap in the wood then I can start my Christmas shopping. This is what the government refer to as 'care in the community!

Merry Christmas everybody!

The tug towing the Pride of Dover is currently circling just off the coast of Aliaga Turkey, awaiting tonights high spring tide to beach her for scrapping.

She’s now beached. Hoping to get some pics before long.

A sad end for the last ship to be built for and to be delivered in Townsend Thoresen colours.

Here’s the Dover’s older sister (ex Pride of kent) on the same beach…

The TSS Caledonian princess or better known as the tuxedo princess or to us Geordies the boat, at the knackers yard in aliaga.

St Malo was a lovely litle port to spend a summers Sunday in while you were waiting for the driving ban to finish at 10 p.m.
I can’t remember the name of the ship but I do remember having A Grand Day Out with two of the British International drivers and one from Barbour European.

I can’t remember the name either but it had a very French sounding one and it was very distinctive compared to the other Brittany ferries.

I went from Poole to St Helier on the Corbiere, it took 14 hours with a stop in Gernsey on the smoothest sea I ever saw, it was a dead calm and almost mirror like.
The Havelet was by far the smallest sea going ferry I have ever been on (apart from any Red Funnel ship). I was on it with only 8 other passengers and 3 vehicles in mid summer and stiffling hot with the A/C not working, it was the only time in my life I got sick on a ship and believe me I have sailed in many force 9 gales in my time.
