I bet the skipper and crew of this one were glad to get into port.
A couple from Norfolk Line; the second one hit the pier as she entered the harbour and took in water all the way up the river.

Stop laughing at the back there !!! Bristol dock, early 90’s,now this is a “Ship”,a Viking Long Ship, albeit an authentic replica but it’s “forebears” were sailing to all parts of the known world, including America, over a thousand years ago without the aid of Sat/nav,auto pilot, side thrusters or twin screws !!And there was no getting “■■■■■■■ in the cocktail bar, watching the Stripper on the trip over to “The Hook” either !! Cheers Bewick.

0hi,
most of the people i meet at truck shows tell me that, they were nearly on the herald, though luckily they stopped for a coffee at lokeren! must have been a bloody big ship!!!
regards andrew.Strange though isn’t it that a lot of people can remember exactly where they were when the newsflash came up, I was parked up in Crawford so definitely nowhere near it !
I hate ferries and use the tunnel as often as I can, although I recently went on the one from Harwich to Hook of Holland which wasn’t too bad.hi trevh,
a lifelong friend of mine, who grew up with lorries and is a very experienced continental driver, was on the train heading for france on sept. 11th 2008,when they had a major fire,he was on news at ten/sky etc at the time,he was very lucky to survive and only recently (last week) told me again, that he would NEVER go on that train EVER again
regards andrew.

She did indeed Boatchaser.Never missed a beat,a great old tug. What era are you talking about,as the Columba(from the British Rail & Stena Sealink days),and latterly the Stena Hibernia(from the Stena days),was on Holyhead Dun Laoghaire for,at a guess I would say 10/15years.
They used to have the St.Cybi on,as a late night freighter.
