Hi 240 Gardner can you confirm that the Dreadnaught is still on the road doing the steam show now? Regards Geoff
Think the Scania with the Estepe roof was driven by Mick Bingham who used to go out with Sophie at Truckline at Cherbourg.
Kerbut , I had an Esteppe roof on my ex Gilders 142, used to fly with no speed limiter.
The girls in the freight office were rather nice looking, Marie Noel with big blue eyes, she owns a baby clothes shop in Cherbourg.
The two Canadian old timers who marshalled traffic in the port.
On the Stena love boat from Southampton to Cherbourg there was Gina, long black hair, I fell in love with her.
I saw Frankie Carson on the new years eve crossing, he did a show, great fun.
Cherbourg Douanes on the take with ■■■■ off drivers when you had gone over four stamps on the permit, remember those from British International aka Tim Allan and Peter the poisoned dwarf Taplin.

Hi Dean thanks for the article that takes me back. That was in the good old days when they gave you the wine, and the food wasn’t as bad as some drivers made out. Those days also there were no Grockles on board.Happy days Cheers Geoff

Last time I did Ventimiglia / Menton instead of Frejus it cost a fortune in payage tolls and diesel! Robert

Thanks for your pic Hotel Magnum,it was a long way round to get to Italy but if you were Hazardous I suppose your options were limited. As Robert says it was expensive with Tolls and diesel, and all of those tunnels once you got to Italy.Very scenic though wasn’t it.Regards Geoff

Robert did you gain any info from Bob Jarett about Phill Horridges ERF.Cheers Geoff
we came back through the tunnels, always turning down the return ticket at the peage. we complained about the black truck and black uniform in the heat, the boss fixed it by sending us to Sweden.
