Can anyone explain the correct procedure for using the ship mode when taking breaks crossing the Irish Sea. One company TM I was with said that after I arrive at the port I switch the Tacho to ship mode for about a minute, then press rest. I’m sure he said I then remove the card He also said something about removing the card when on the daily rest and then make a manual entry when it’s put back in.
Anyhow. How do I record a 9 or 11 hour break correctly without messing up my card.
Thanks.
deep in the depths of THIS THREAD is the answer, there’s a lot of pedantry there too

If you’ve gone over twelve hours duty time forget it! You can interrupt twice in the hour to get you on and off the boat that’s it! You’ve got to park up on a thirteen and have you daily rest period! Why would you want to remove your digi? Even whilst tramping never take my card out unless I’m going home
I’m glad we don’t have to endure this ■■■■■■■■ again!

Thankyou.
