Reputation is everything and id rather be known for having a shiny spotless truck than a filthy shed!
. . . or just delivering the goods and fueling the tank at the end of the shift.

Having a filthy shed is not the only alternative to a shiny spotless truck, there is a happy medium, and not all drivers that don’t bother their arses wasting their 7 hours with a rag and a tin of Mr Sheen drive filthy sheds.
And even if your tank shines like a ■■■■ house door in the moonlight, it does not give you a reputation of being good at your job, it only gives you a reputation of a driver with a shiny tank.
■■■■! I started this as a usual Tankpolisher wind up, and now I’m getting serious again
. I just can’t help myself
Think even Orangeboy has taken the huff with me
I am agency and drive a different unit every shift 95% of the time. I hate getting into a filthy smelly uncared for unit that has grease on the steering wheel, stinky cab and filthy sussies where half of the grease ends up on your clothes or you. However I also hate getting into a cab which is so pristine you feel guilty for not taking your shoes off before climbing in!

Sounds like my kind of gal …how shiny was her tank

The pride comes in leaving it for the next guy as I would like to find it.
Clean, tidy, useable, and fueled.

At last
Bottle of Demon Shine in Asda is only £2 (on offer, the others are £6). Big box of microfibre cloths for £ 6 IIRC. I didn’t get any as we already had a frightening shopping bill for 4 of us and we’ve got loads of old clothes to cut up for cloths.
