Though I have nothing against the tank polishers, infact some off My mates are tank polishers themselves,

But I do wish those that do would stop justifying it as having pride in the job. Pride in the job is not about shiny tanks :unamused:

Shiny tanks is personal satisfaction, and that absolutely fine.

In My experience, shiny on the outside clean on the inside, better than the way some off the animals live and treat a truck :unamused:

More to the point, his is the same age as my XF (12 plate) and my bumper is showing rust spots and that one isn’t…

i can appriciate a nice clean truck but this polishing malarky to to far for me unless you own the truck then fair play cant see point if your just a driver and not owner

:open_mouth: Oh God! What have you done? You should not have said that, …the old ‘‘Spending cash on your guvnor’s motor’’ chestnut. ( speaking from experience here btw  ) you will now get the full wrath of the Tankpolisher’s posse brought down around your lugs, eternal damnation, plague and pestilence…you have been warned!

While I,m on can I just say I’m just amazed that nobody has commented on the guy that spends 7 hours polishing it :open_mouth: (his tank I mean  ) …or is it just me?
Oh ■■■■! I’m off again, I’m going before Orangeboy and his mates has a go at me

It wasn’t 7 hours in one go, he probably did it while he was on a break [emoji6]

Its starting to show rust at the very bottom but getting some stuff to deal with that. Thankfully in a lot better nick than half the sheds i had driven at mcdowells.

Muckaway:

jonnytruckfest:
apparently the 2 drivers already taking the trucks to the shows only want people who are serious about it apparently!

Cheers

Jonny :sunglasses:

Who do these pricks think they are? If you want to show yours why do they get an opinion? Judging from your photo, it’s good enough to show as it is mate. Just as interesting in a well looked after condition, tale that F88 log wagon; No where near “show standard” but I bet it gives as much enjoyment to people as the ponce-mobiles.
FWIW I could’ve washed my wagon and shown it today, wouldn’tve looked out of place and I’ve never polished mine.

Not sure mate i asked that when i started, already had a few comments on it when i came back to the yard on Friday. Not bad to say ive only had it a week. Like most people i go to the shows to see friends look at the shiny mobiles and if I’m lucky indulge in a beer or 3. But some get overly serious about it and forget about having fun something i want no part in. I know mine won’t win any awards but the taking part that counts! :sunglasses:

As for the amount of time i spend cleaning it. Inbetween jobs as delivering timber you can be waiting a while, and if im finished and have no tv signal just get out for an hour or two to keep me from getting bored. I know it isn’t ‘my’ lorry but as its my home Monday through friday/saturday i like it kept spotless and as clean as i can get it. Reputation is everything and id rather be known for having a shiny spotless truck than a filthy shed!

Cheers

Jonny :sunglasses:

Oops how did that happen !! , had a chat with the guys at wagon wash products , and they said if it’s an ab tank that’s as good as it will get 8( , if you sand it it will open up other blemishes deeper in the alloy 8(

My tank is painted so no polishing for me

I don’t really care what anybody thinks :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

Me neither im going to a beer warehouse later today  shiny tanks isnt on the agenda!
