Shell mex and BP Ltd Fuel Depots

Hi Darren , hope you enjoyed your visit to the Gaydon show , it was nice to see you , don’t worry about the photos , I forgot myself about them so send them in your own good time. tankerjack.

I have put this photograph on the thread so that somebody can correctly identify what the sole purpose of this Shell-BP vehicle was ? , the photo was given to me by Kevin Green the famous 1/76th scale modeller , if you have been to a model show kevin will have been in attendence , this vehicle baffled Kevin , I said it looks like a grease tanker for the aircraft ? , but I am not sure as I have never seen this vehicle before ! , can anyone identify this vehicle ?. tankerjack.

I hear on the grapevine Jarrow terminal is soon to close?

This is a sister vehicle to the one from Jarrow.
It was based at Shell Haven

Great photo of the old Shell Haven vehicle Fodentanker. My dad drove for Shell Mex and BP then BP at The Haven terminal until the mid 90’s. Here are a couple of shots of the depot - one i took mid 80’s and the other was taken just before the depot was demolished late 2002. Would love to see any old photos of Shell Haven Terminals and vehicles if anyone has some.

The Haven Terminal in Essex used by Shell Mex and BP then after the split BP until its closure and demolition in 202

The Renaults were the last vehicles Shell bought, at Shell Haven, before contracting out the Transport to P&O.
The ERF was more common in the Shell fleet.
