i don’t know about needing truck drivers over here ? They do need someone to show them how to build roads
I sat in a 9 mile long line of traffic this afternoon on I-95 south bound in CT because they hadn’t managed to join two sets of blacktop at te NY state line and there was a 10 foot gap with a 5 inch difference in levels and the start and finish FFS. Anyone driving more than 10 mph over them would destroy their vehicle … Now that is disgusting, it was like having two speed bumps on a motorway.

A friend of mine got caught in that on Tuesday night right for a few hours around the same time as that big storm storm. I came up through that way yesterday north-bound and there was a huge queue at 2pm. I hate that road with a passion.

Shocking from a country that’s suppose to be a world leader in just about everything and always there to save us from what ever evil there is lol

I know the road from Portal SK heading north is bad felt like was in a cocktail shaker

In the 60’s the USA was the most advanced country and so they said “Thats it, we are the most advanced so now we can stop” and thats what they did, they just froze everything and now their vehicles and tech stuff. When I came here I had an old Nokia mobile phone and people couldn’t believe how advanced it was. My first job was with a Ford dealer, the Ford Focus had just been launched (two years behind Europe) and the management didn’t believe me when I told tema bout quick clear windscreens.

yep ! about that time I was about Stamford CT.
Took this photo !

Have noticed that pat lol they boast the new cars can do 40 mpg on the highway!!! My old BMW was doing about 48 mpg combined lol and as for the trucks wow they think 7.5 mpg is good. Was speaking to a guy the other night in Fargo he was asking about UK trucks and was telling him 10 mpg + not to mention check all levels n bulbs etc from the cab he thought I was pulling his leg and looked at me like I had 2 heads

Too busy banging my head against the steering wheel in frustration at the way all the oxygen thieves drive their cars down damnation alley (I95)!!

I parked for the night in that rest area just south of Hartford on the 91 as I had to load first thing just north of Hartford. I’m sure you know which one I mean Pat, its also a scale. Yes, I was woken up at about 6am that morning as unlike all other scales in America that have an intention known as a light, telling drivers to pull forward, leave, stop etc…no, this one had a bloody great tannoy and all I could hear was some angry sounding north easterner barking orders such as “Stop driver!, I said STOP!” or “OK driver, now get outta here!” and the best of all was “God dammit, dont you speak English!!! I said STOP!!”

They just fixed that scale, it was in bits for about 6 months. If you do that runn again drive a bit further to the exit for Brainard airport, there some off road parking on that industrial estate, there’s a Dunkin Donuts and a fuel stop open 24 hours. You coud also have cut across the link section (691) to 84, there’s a TA where it meets 84.

Dont you have to pay to park in the TA there? That wouldn’t bother me if they had one of their own proper resturants but if its one of those horrible little Arby’s that sell greasy grissle then its a bit different.

You pay unless you get ether 50 gallons of fuel or spend $25.00 inside the building and the food in the diner is good.
