Security; against theft;

What methods can we use and do we do enough to prevent theft of
trucks–trailers—and there loads.

What can we do, I have been sat here reading about the increase of
theft of the items mentioned above and my opinion the blame can also be laid at the side of the owners as well, why you ask if the owner
was to invest in certain means of proven security then the acttual numbers of incidents will decline and so would the insurance rates.

SOME POSSIBLE WAYS TO BE A LITTLE SAFER:::

1:Park only in a area which has the insurance co,s approval,
2.Get together with other owners and organize safe parking
in your operateing centers ,ie freds lorrys park at toms yard and the same applys when tom is near fred,
3.Fit a unit out with the latest satellite bug that can show at all times
where it is and ensure that is operators know how to react if it is
acctivated,
4.Use insurance approved locks and seals at all times.
5.Ensure that the driver knows where to park when loaded and not
able to park in the yard, ( FOR travel abroad there is a list of stops
that meet required standards.
6.When moveing high risks loads on a regular basis try to speak to
a representive from the firm and confirm what his expectations in the
security aspect are–ie a confirmed route with stops, permission to
either remain in the loading area for a rest period or when at the delivery
point also allowing the truck to park in the yard not OUTSIDE:
7.Ensure that the Driver knows that the load is not worth more than
the possibility of he or she being hurt in any way and to let them take
it.
THERE are a few points from me come on lets have now some more
ideas which may help all of us whom it concerns.
