Seahouses

Got a delivery Monday to Seahouses Harbour. Just had a quick look. Easiest route seems to be off A1 at Alnwick, and up to Seahouses on B1340.

What’s the B1340 like? Never been up that way before. Artic with fridge trl on.

Cheers

Its ok. Off the A1 the signs say its 12 miles, (I think), but it the longest 12 miles youll ever do! It goes on forever.
OK for artic.

Nice one, cheers for that. Looks a fair slog out there from centre of Alnwick!

Just put it into route planner, says to carry on A1 past Alnwick to a spot called Brownieside, then cross A1 to what looks like a country lane which eventually joins the B1430. Looks a bit dodgy?

Up the A1 take turn for Rock / Christon Bank along that road does twist & turn a bit but no low bridges that I remember or go further up towards Belford then in through Bamburgh again no low bridges

Both roads do twist & turn a bit but can get an artic through

Cheers. Found Christon Bank. B6347 off A1 animal?

No low bridges but it’s a twisty road. I’d go past the first Alnwick slip keep on a1 it drops down hill slight left corner then back up, take the next slip off left to t junction Turn right B1340 and follow road lots of twists and turns but beware of double decker buses use same route. Continue to Christon bank turn right and it’ll take you to a t junction (had traffic lights on last night) hang a left follow to end it’s a crossroad turn right bit of a blind get out then that’ll take you into seahouses. First roundabout turn right main street next roundabout over and the harbour is first right in front of carpark and RNLI

If I press the red buzzer, will it get the lads out quicker to tip me?!?

I would stop on road there isn’t a lot of room in harbour. Lot of boats out the water on Friday. And when your done get some rock from the gift shop on the roundabout for the trip back lol.

Plan was to park up and have a walk down when I arrive. If I can get myself out of bed I should be up there when it’s nice and quiet still. Plan to get in for 4 tomorrow, so if all goes to plan I’ll be in M1 at Barnsley 4.30 to hopefully beat all traffic around Washington and Team Valley etc.

Careful past the team Valley they have new speed cameras on there so keep the right foot off a bit lol. If you can stop on main street Trotters bakers do lovely bacon and sausage sandwiches all fresh and hot out the oven. Trouble is the cakes are nice too oh well diet starts next Monday ha ha

Travel past TV to & from work, no obvious cameras.

Hope your not skinny dipping you have work to do @maxb81

Ha ha, no chance, them waves looked a bit choppy this morning!

Had a clear run up, got there just before 8, and by 20 past I was away after dropping 5plts.

Just hit 4hr30 after getting 2nd drop off in Cramlington. I spotted that Trotters but couldn’t get anywhere near when passing. Speaking to one of lads in yard before I left and we deliver to Trotters with urban trl and tail lift it off, so least I know where that is if I get sent and I’ll try a butty then!

Cheers for all the replies.

Well f=if I’d known you were coming to Cramlington…

Kettle would’ve been put on… :grimacing:
