Hi again,Great pics from Lurpak and Buf…Freightline was one of my favorites before they finished…heres another F88 to start todays bunch.

THT25M is seen parked for the weekend at Staple Hill,Bristol…Freightline used to let their drivers take the wagons home.

Heres an old 'un from a long gone haulier,A Crusader from Gores at home in High Littleton.

An F10 from Fowlers loaded with scrap on the M4.

Another missed haulier is Syms of Calne, heres one of the many FL10s they ran.

A pair of Smythes F12s take a weekend break on Gordano services, this was a regular practice as the drivers would go home with another as these were loaded for routes other than south so saving the fuel back to the yard.

Another Devon firm, heres Greendales 124 on the M4.

Cheers Bubbs,

i know the most of the greendale fleet was taken on by gregory’s but i have seen a greendale volvo on the environmemtal walking floors , did greendale keep a few or start running trucks again ?

Hi Marcus. The AH Gore photo reminded me of when i started driving in 1989. I used to bring apples down from Kent in a bulker to a cider factory which was situated in the corner of AH Gores yard. Do you remember such a factory?. I’m sure im right because i seem to remember borrowing some tools from their workshop once to carry out some minor repair.

Great pic of Smythe’s F12s,thanks Bubbs mate.

Did they run DAFs at any stage mate?

Hi again,as far as I know Moley Greendale have restarted but in a small way,a few white Scania artics with not much writing on them.
Mark…never noticed any buildings used for making cider, the few times I went was on Saturday afternoons when there were just fitters working…it wouldn’t surprise me though as there were lots of buildings on site.
NZ Jamie, dont think Smythes ran DAFs,I got pics of Scanias,ERFs,Fodens and Volvos of theirs but cant remember any DAFs on the fleet.
Ok heres todays offering…hope they’re alright.

Nice line up of Mandators from Western Tpt…I loved working there

Heres an old Foden S80 from Cullimores all named from Charles Dickens characters, this one is"Dr Everard".

One of Jack Henleys “B” series ERFs seen outside of St Ivels depot,Warmley,Bristol.

M,J,Males 142 heads London bound on the M4 with a load of pallets on.

Foden S106 of Merryfasters is seen on the M4 heading west.

Pitchers EC ERF pulling for Frigo’s again westbound on the M4.

Cheers Bubbs,

There’s a nice e series erf ex henleys on eBay for sale, looks in good nick, the firm that owns it now have kept it in henleys colours etc, I’m tempted bubbs, but I spoz I can only get so many in me drive!

Great pics (as always) the Smythes Volvo looks like he’s been backloaded with drums from Burmah Castrol Ellesmere Port (when I worked at Westerns, we subbed everyone with them back South / South West and South Wales.) That Ferrymasters Foden I have very fond memories of. One of five supplied to the Risley (Warrington) depot powered by the (then) new ■■■■■■■ LT 10 litre with double drive on the rear axles (great in the mud, but awful if at a tight angle) I think they were actually designed for the tipper chassis but experimented on these. (an amusing little memory I have as regards that FM pic - the driver big Kevin from Winsford spotted a Belgian reg plate on an old shunt motor in the yard and asked me could I remove it and put it on the Foden - you can just about see it to the right of the grille. With the fibreglass cab, you could attach just about anything with a pop rivet gun - hence the TIR and Van Hool plates etc)

Hello again, good info on the Ferrymasters Foden Hayday…ok heres todays stuff.

Harold Williams 140 heads south on the M5 near Cullompton, taken from the passenger seat of my mates Sed/Atk about 1983.

H.T.Gardners Foden poses in the winter sunshine on Exeter services M5…the company still operates with a plain white livery with a red stripe running from the roof to the bumper…looks like an Embassy ■■■ packet!!(for those who remember them).

Another winter shot, this unidentified Roadtrain looks like its had the rear axle added on.

Dont think this crowd are around anymore, this was the first 38 tonner I photographed after the weights went up.

J.R.Adams Leyland Daf 85 is seen westbound on the M4 by Swindon.

Great pics as usual Marcus
The ERF EP6 four wheeler cab was built in Turkey. Designed by Pininfarina, it seemed to be the answer to ERF’s prayers when it came to providing a steel alternative to its traditional SMC cabs.
The first EP6 models to arrive over here required a lot of engineering work to get them properly adapted for the UK market but unfortunately they never really took off in any great numbers.

hi-datum roadtrain with a tag axle PASS THE TISSUES cheers bubbs keep the T45,s coming :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

Foden S106 of Merryfasters is seen on the M4 heading west.

This is the one that was used in all the publicity photos - I don’t think they lasted long with FM. I remember this one in later years on low-loader work with Pye’s of Longridge, near Preston, and painted maroon. Hope it had a beefier engine for that work!

Hello again, great pics from Laurence, thanks mate for sharing your archives  ,nice pics from Phil, got the copyright sorted then  and finally to 240,didnt connect the FM Foden with the publicity shots and also didn’t realise it was Pyes after cos I got a shot of her in their livery also…call myself a lorry enthusiast   :unamused:

J B (Jack) Smith ran a fleet of these Sed/Atks on contract to Cadbury Schweppes but moved stock from Frys chocolate factory at Keynsham.

Another missed company,Drapers Tpt from Grays seen on the M4.

Robbins Foden heads home on the M4.

Leigh Delamere services sees Walsh Westerns 112 taking a rest.

A crappy day on Corly services on the M6 sees this 143 having a blow with his mate.

Connell Hills ECX ERF kicks up a bit of spray on the A36 near Warminster.

Cheers Bubbs,
