Scrapbook Memories (Part 1)

BonkeyDollocks:
Nice pic of the FL10 loading under the tar plant mate! Know where that is!

The plant was used for Dense bit and Hot Roll but now and then it also produced cut back for various depots up and down the country, if I’m not mistaken.

The plant is still in situ for some strange reason and here’s a recentish photo of the place:

Yeh good owd wredon pit as cotty and Mark out of the scales used call it, had some good times and good money out of there before big brother took it over and fkd it out of it’s brains roge, happy days, owd walter in the plant the corduroy kid pms

A few Thames Traders during the building of Strensham Services on the M5 in 1962.

Now this was a rare Beast, knicknamed the Haunted House, had a 350 ■■■■■■■ in it!

One for Moley, seen on the bit of dual carriageway between the M5 and the A38 at North Petherton.

Anyone remember Thomason’s ? Mainstay of the fleet were Saviem’s. Quite rare to have a large fleet of them in those days. There were a couple of Scanias too.

I’ve found a mint company brochure while tidying me cupboards so here it is
Front and back cover, when opened up it’s a lovely fleet line up.

SHY 142…Cool reg number,I’ve a shot of this one as a 4x2 unit in Ralph Davies colours…a bit of useless info there :unamused:

It took a bit of trawling through my albums, but I knew I had seen the reg before.

no mate, they went bust in 97 when they were running 26 motors, sad mate but i can still here the saviems turbo whistle, they sounded the dogs pal
