Scrapbook Memories (Part 1)

Hello,tribsa.
Thanks for your info on the photos i.e. where they were taken. Re where the album was purchased, at the moment I don’t know.It might have been at the Boot Sale on the old Ford air base at Littlehampton, but I’ll get in touch with my oppo who bought it and let you know A.S.A.P. There were quite a few photos in it, consisting Trams,Trains, Buses,a lot of Container shipping, probably taken at Tilbury some while ago and one photo of a Russian submarine. Bear with me,I’ll get back to you soon. Regards,900x20.

Hello again,tribsa.
I’ve found out that the photo album was bought at a boot sale at Roundstone,in between Littlehampton and East Preston.Sadly, that’s the limit of our knowledge re. it’s provenance. :frowning: . Sorry, wish I could do more. Regards,900x20.

Nice one Marcus, 3 yrs and still full of surprises. Thanks, for all personal time you put in for our enjoyment.

I like the idea of a multilift as a transporter.

Nice bit of sheeting.

:stuck_out_tongue: Looks like a sleeper cab on the Foden too. Better than the Clutch and Brake Hotel! Regards,900x20.

If the album came from old freind Don who had 1000’s of pics & 100’s of models passed away a while back & he lived in West London but his folks live in the Littlehampton area.
The Dallas of Kingston pics Ive put on were his.
Cheers Rich

A fabulous three years’ worth of entertainment, Marc - thank you!

Cheers Bubbs,

This one is quite timely, isn’t it? Another one bites the dust…

Hi Chris Have “Dodds” pulled the pin now as I did a few months for them in the late 80s and they were a good firm to work for I left as I was offered a job which paid quite a bit better but I enjoyed it there .
cheers Johnnie

By what I’ve read I think congratulations must be in order Marcus!!! I don’t think “H” would be too pee’d off about the Volvo F86 and the Scania 80 shots,he just likes to have you believe he is,moaning old git!!! I reckon he’d fancy a crack behind that Baker Guy Invincible which is a proper motor like!! Anyway Marcus here’s to the next 3 years, your clippings are always interesting and make for absorbing study of times gone by in the world of transport.Regards Dennis.

Hi Marc,
Belated congratulations from me on reaching three years with your scrapbook.Brilliant interesting thread, keep her going mate.
Cheers Dave.

Dodds Transport, are they still going ? I remember them delivering to Winthrops Ltd at Fawdon along with Armstongs from Jamacia Rd London, a regular sight in the years gone by, plus Pannell Transport with their green & red Fodens, distinctive livery, all three of them. plus Armstrongs Ergos fitted with non proprietey sleeper extensions. Regards Larry

Hello again, hey Molely…she’s a lovely old motor mate, there again I love old Fodens

me too but she’s not easy on the eye, definately a unique look , wonder how many are still about , wether it be rotting away or actually preserved ?

Bewick:

MolePower:

MOC:

not a looker is she :frowning:

Your dead right there “Mole Power”,if there was a prize for the most “ugly” combination ever put to-gether that Foden and tipping trailer would win the “supreme championship”!!! Or as that Louisiana Sheriff said in the James Bond film “Boy,you is ugly”!!! Cheers Bewick.

do i take it that none made it to the bewick fleet dennis or are you hiding those photo’s !

that must have been a struggle with emotions on the first day , but i spose somebody loved her when new :open_mouth:

BOSS; hey, i just got you a new lorry
DRIVER ; thats great !
BOSS; there it is …
DRIVER ; yeahh…eeee…ahhh… really ?

I think every fleet should have one

Driver says “my new Volvo…Scania…DAF…etc etc night heater or radio or electric window doesn’t work properly so I can’t do that job today”

Boss says “Its OK, leave it with me, you can take the spare lorry…”

hiya,
Once had a silly boss remove a fitted radio from an ERF because of a misunderstanding and I was in the right as it happens, but the laugh was actually on me I’d never ever used it and could never get it tuned in so used a tape recorder instead his face was a picture when he found his “star man” had actually dropped the bollock.
thanks harry.long retired.

got to say the more i look at it , the more i’m starting to like it :open_mouth:

:unamused: Apart from being a little bit ugly, on the plus side it does have a Gardner engine in it. 900x20.

hi marcus
sorry im late also, been away all week, congrats!! .this thread would be poorer without your great clippings, even if it does include one of my own lorries!!! cheers bazztrucker

I like the idea of a multilift as a transporter.

Brilliant idea to put some boards down so the rollers don’t mark the road/car park surface too.
