quality pic ! rarely used so yer lucky to get that pic at all ! was so seldom used it was eventually sold on to another local haulier , thoses ERF’s used to sound great coming down over donyatt hill in the mornings with the jakes on  i think they had 3 ERF’s in all.

Suedehead:
Did Thompsons from Devon always run lorries with the lowest HP available  Iirc, they didnt run light loads out . . was tinned rice out wasnt it?

must have ben quite a pull running up out of launceston !
although i think Willmots from Sheptem Mallet ran a few DAF 2300 for ages , was a nightmare for their drivers to get anywhere fast !

Hi again, nice Fergy pics Marcus 22,well done for posting them,Had a good time at Gaydon, didnt take one photo cos of the rain but met loads of friends old and new.Gotta give Truckerash a pat on the back for the model show  spot on mate.Nice also to meet Dave the Renagade and Tracy too.
Suedehead mentioned the underpowered 2300 DAFs that Thompsons ran, well …I had this(below) 2500 about 20 years ago, when I got it it was uprated from 32 to 38 tons :frowning: Christ it was awfull at maximum weight (plus sometimes  )one time it took me all day to drive from the north-east to Kent, the bestist thing about her was if I turned the key back the lorry would still go,I had headlights but no other electrics also the tacho went to break and even the up and down motions on the card stopped :open_mouth: …dead handy for moving off loading bays while on break or stuck in traffic on the M25 so a 15 minute break could be took and…if I needed to get somewhere.Of course I never did this…well once or twice…ok loads of time

9 attempts to get this pic on…I hate tinypics :imp:

Likewise. Stood there most of the day with my models, wondering if I would meet anyone. I suggest 4ft high name badges for everyone for next year!!

In fact if you lot got out of the way, you would see me at my table in the background!!!

Hi Marc how scary is this?

This happened on Saturday in Southampton near the old TVS studios just before Northam Bridge! Nothing to do with us I must add. Pics courtesy of Terry Moody.

A 22RB slid off the trailer when the cab must have slewed! It was alledgedly only held on with two rachet straps!! Driver got a £60 fine and 3 points!!

Reloaded and chained on properly

Hello again,Dave…its a good job I didnt take my hat off,the flash reflecting off my bald bonce would have blinded you all.  .
Good stuff Phil…have you dried off now,you looked a soggy mess on sunday.

Cheers Bubbs,

Hey Pat,just saw your post before submitting this,Blimey what a muppett just useing 2 ratchet straps to hold that on…he was a lucky feller to get a small fine and just 3 points. :frowning:

Looks like its had another cab grafted onto it imo.

Hello Marcus. I have dried out now from Sunday. I think a few bits have shrunk though as the weather is not that cold.

For those at Gaydon on Sunday imagine this Scammell arriving at the 1965 show.

Phil.

For those of you who were at Gaydon 10years ago 2001, we did have one.
