Bubbleman, this is really your forum thread - the most popular on Trucknet - so do not leave it too long, we need you to keep it going in the right direction. In the meantime enjoy the break from being behind the wheel.

Trev.
hiya,
Nice to see the “86 Bubble” she looks well and not OTT with silly lights and the extra ones are in the proper place and capable of helping you to find your way home. A very Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year to everybody on TNUK.
thanks harry long retired.
Hi Trev,Still got my Bubble mate but she’ll be going next year .Harry…thanks for the kind words about her,I know 86s are well down your list of favorite wagons but I reckon you could actually climb up in her mate (as its an easy access cab)and put her through her paces .Dont forget 86s are great for blindside reversing…just gotta look out the back windows…Happy Christmas Harry
Cheers Bubbs,

hiya,
Marc as you say piece of cake when shoving back on the blind side, I did drive 86s for Youngy’s of Leadgate the entire fleet was 86s in my time mainly six wheel rigids and artics the rigids were fine at the legal weights but I never rated the artics when running at thirty two gross which was the norm, this was the early 70s was they uprated after this time to improve performance or was it just me who was a rubbish driver and who had been a bit spoiled with hairier beasts prior to driving for Young’s.PS had driven loads of underpowered motors as a young fella but we all did, didn’t we ■■.

I fully agree with you, the realisation has dawned on me that I have been hogging bubbleman’s superb thread and going off track a bit, for that I apologise to bubbleman and other watchers. I still have a lot of pictures to offer but will give it a break and thin them out a bit.
Very Best Wishes for Christmas and Hogmanay to all.

Licence Harry?
When we started we didn’t need one, go on, take it round the block a few times but don’t complain to me about the pain in your arms and the calluses on your hands.
Talking about calluses, take those ropes and sheets off and get it tipped.
Now, ain’t ya glad you haven’t got a licence anymore?
But if not have a real good think before you ring for a reload (sorry, went all modern for a moment there, backload) and rope and sheet again in freezing sleet.
I’d do it all again like a shot if I could, and I’ve still got a licence.
