Hi geepir,
In 1956 I was a bus driver in Kirkcaldy and well remember Wisharts, whose business was largely built on Nairn’s Linoleum. Cork from the harbour to the factory, hessian from the jute mills in Dundee and of course the finished product throughout the UK, after Nairns merger or takeover by Forbo-Krommenie they were doing continental as well.

oiltreader, cracking photo of Mactaggart bros motor, traveled that road b9176 a few times over the years, this is what it look like in the late 50ty- 60ty, took other photos 3 years ago, that narrow bridge is still at the bottom, used to get a little bit hairy dropping down that bank, driving a commer TS3, still I loved every minute of driving on them roads great views from the top, bumper
That’s a cracking picture Bumper, thanks for sharing it, I can almost hear the TS3 noise as it tries to slow down going dawn that road & see it decoking at night while it’s doing it too.

Good to see a pic of my old mate Jim Goodwin’s ERF four wheeler RobRoy, or it could be his lad Anthony of course! Not to many of those cabs about.

The Ford “D” Series of Yendor Transport Sheffield (Rodney spelt backwards) brings back memories as I’ve had lifts in that very one when on a dodgy.
I remember it trapped on a bit.

Nice photos bumper, the stretch of water in the background is the inner part of the Dornoch Firth and the area is called the Kyle of Sutherland. That bridge is very tight for HGVs and needs repairs frequently. A lot of timber is being harvested in the Highlands at the present time, so quite a lot of timber lorry traffic on that road.
