Seeing that PIC of the Foden 4000 earlier reminded me ofthe Black Cat Foden of the 90,s.That was a truck to drool over!

A Bedford and maybe a Comet going up Ferryhill cut southbound on the old A1.

Well, if we’re being picky David, the motor in front looks like a Ford ET6/7 to me!
Bernard
Or a Commer?

What’s this then Gents? I’m guessing Austin K2, or Loadstar? I found it yesterday, attracting flora and fauna in the Forest of Dean.
Looks like a Commer Superpoise military variant to me, though I’m no expert on Commers or military vehicles. Robert
Forgot to mention, the rocker cover had “BMC” on it. That made me think an Austin?
Greetings,All.
Ref. the derelict Army Lorry,it is definitely a Commer 4WD (based on a Superpoise,) supplied to the Army. IIRC,it was fitted with a 6 cylinder petrol engine.
Regards to all,900x20.
Greetings All.Back again.Ref.the Commer. It could have been re engined as the one in the picture looks like a BMC 5.1 Diesel.
All the best,900x20.

Hi Prattman,
I thought I must write and say how much I enjoy seeing your cuttings & photos. I bet like me many will wish we had held onto some we had seen during our lives. They bring back so many memories. I for one wished I had taken photos of some of our vans when I was younger, as even with my pathetic photographing skills they were big enough for me to get some bits on with the sky & surroundings. Sady its too late now & my only hope of memories depend on the wisdom of the like of you who did keep records of the past
Thank you
Carl
Hi Carl
Thanks for the comments here’s a few more that I have just copied from the printer these are cuttings from the 90’s my original scrapbooks date back to the 70’s when I was a teenager I still have many pages to post onto here from them but I was copying them at work as the pages are bigger than A4 and the machine at work can handle bigger than A4 as my printer at home only goes up to A4 and as I have been on the sick since august I have not had the opportunity to do any copying hopefully if I get back to work in 2015 I will be able to continue with my project. cheers prattman.
