I don’t think Dennis would be happy with that sheeting job.

Where do you start? It’s a hell of a mess is that, and yon young fella shouldn’t get too close. What a shambles.

Perhaps that was young Dennis thinking … What the ____ , I’m going to make sure I never do this.
Hello lads,I went through the box and I thought a few old covers from CM may be of interest…note the prices
Although this is only the cover I remember this copy being as thick as a phone book…good value
When I peep through a current issue of CM I cant help thinking todays mag is a million miles away from the ones from my childhood , I know the industry has changed a lot since then but its nice to look back at what we had,Cheers Bubbs,

Hi Bubbs,
I cannot agree more.
When I was old enough to read I always read te Commercial motor. Initially colouring in on unsignwritten phots and In my early teens I couldn’t wait for it to be delivered weekly with the newspapers.
I had to take my turn to read after dad had scrutinsed it, but in my opinion as a budding hauage contractor it was essential reading not only for the pleasure but to keep up to date with changing regulations and transport law.
Best wises
Carl
Used to enjoy the commercial motor, but really liked ‘Headlight’ magazine too, especially all the contacts in the back for back loads when the old man was tramping.

I well remember one episode in the very early '60’s,identical to that “lampost” shot. One of Burnholme Transport of Penrith’s Guy Invincibles coming to stanstill in Longpool near the Station in Kendal, nothing fell off and they sent another motor down from Penrith to tranship the load. The Burnholme load was a lot tidier sheeted than that Commer ! Cheers Dennis.

Hiya…thats right Trev. the unit had a fishtail on the back crossmember and that linked to the back bogie of the trailer.
the bogie had a turntable and kingpin under the chassis. these trailers was on the heavy side but you could go anywhere
without mounting the kerb. the trailers have been talked about but no photo’s have appeared.
how’s things Trev i’ve not seen you at any rallies for a couple of years.i see you’ve still got a CX to ride.
i saw some caf’e race style ones they looked good.
Cheers John
