Hi Tidderson ,you can just make out it was a reg number with jfc on , and it looks like a Oxford or Swidon truck .
And Norfolktrucker thats a great looking Roadtrain with the cab curtains half pulled round the rear windows, so its got some of the light blocked out but a small amount of blindside vision .
We had just one of those Guy Warrior Light 6’s at Fred Chappels in the early 60’s, 7.7 AEC engine. I ran it on nights a couple of times and pulling up Gonnerby Hill there was a constant 6 inch long flame from the front transverse exhaust. It was a decent motor to drive.

Nice one Harry.
I really liked the Warriors, especially with the AEC and the rotary fuel pump. I don’t think the one in the ad would have been one of the Martley gang. I think that was started by Eric Taylor, who was the first owner driver I came across who drove a Scania.
I remember driving a short wheelbase Warrior Light Six tipper on a demolition job where we had to exit the site via an uphill sharp bend. The Guy’s tendancy was to try to go straight on, directly toward one of the town centre shops. Scary!
I do still got £100 pounds worth. GUTTED

Hell, That’s reminded me, steering was not a strong point with yon Guy Warrior 6. They went well enough with the AEC, they were reasonably comfortable but get them in a tight corner and they needed a gentle touch.
Hello lads, not been on here for a while,to be honest the box of clippings have been put away up in the loft because there very little left of interest.Heres some pics which Shakeysteve posted down to me…well done mate,
Cheers Bubbs,
Like the comment about “super luxury cab”,the Warrior we had at Humber McVeigh’s was an absolute rotbox, more holes than a pocket full of Polo’s!

David,
Where did the fibreglass cabs rot? I only briefly drove an Invincible (EVP 625D) and the only issue I had with the “super luxury cab” was the noise from the 180 ■■■■■■■ and in cab air filter which was bloody deafening.

hiya,
The in-cab air filter did keep the cab cigarette smoke free I guess,
never drove one but always think they looked good for the era. I
was able to blow them off with the old Mandator though, with ease.

No good to you, H- too much shiny metal!
