Aye Mike, Buxton Hill! Had a few ar*e clenching moments going down there in snow and ice loaded, sometimes turned right and went round Dovehouse Green and came out at the market place as it wasn’t quite as steep.

Pete.

and I’ve lost my trailer.
thanks harry, long retired.

I gave one of our drivers a lift home one day, he’d been out 3 nights (he didn’t normally do overnights) anyway I pulled up outside his house , all his clothes had been thrown out in the garden, the front door lock had been changed, so I asked him if he needed to go elsewhere.
No this is regular he replied, I’ll break a window and climb in :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Evening Bubbs, my pal Bill Holding is still running one of Clarkes FL10s, and she looks and goes as well, if not better than when she was sold…but now she is a 360…Volvo said it could not be done, but Bill is ex REME!! And he`s still one of the F10s as well.

This thread really does bring the memories to life…I reckon that Malcolm has now disposed of most of the UKs Hire and Reward haulage fleets!!

Cheeerio for now.

As I’ve been in this backwater for about twenty years it came as a bit of a shock to hear that Clarky had packed the job in. Gone the same way as many others, then?

Hi lads, heres another bunch of clippings,Cheers Bubbs,
