Hello Richardp2012,heres HWN714D mate,Cheers Bubbs,i took this photo at banbury market early 70s, the only maggie of this model i ever saw on livestock
Hi 143
This is a great photo, I used to see it in Sturminster Market every week in the early 70s, along with their Commer, Albion, Bedford rigids, but I never had the sense to take photos. Have you got any photos from Banbury market at that time? Was I right about it being ex Entress?

Hi again, great pics Phil…well done, heres a few more bits from me.Cheers Bubbs,Tony McGovern bought a batch of them 331 8 wheelers and cut some down to 6x4 tractors. At the time MAN never offered such a truck and they had to submit technical drawings to the department of transport to get type approval.
MAN sent some of there designers and engineers from germany to look at them and were most impressed at the work. All designed and done by mcgoverns very talented fitter Mick Fahy
The first MAN I saw was a 6x4 tractor and this was in the 60s they were Hans Franke Transport who I nearly went to work for later, 19304 and 19330 with the V10 engine and I drove a 19330 in the 70s
cheers Johnnie
Took these pics last weekend in Aldridge West Mids, & posted them on Walsall thread, but no response, so thought I try 'em on here. I was surprised to see this still there, as it must have been there since the late '70’s I reckon. It was at Jack Allen’s Body factory, but think he has finished now, but I could be wrong! … Does anyone know!

Some from me again, apologies if they’ve been on before.
i drove E120 SVG after Fairweather sold it to (alledgedly) the bloke who drove it for them when he decided to start as an owner driver, when he packed up, my boss bought it for me, it had a tag-axle fitted by then, and was a bit shoddy, but went well,(pre-limiter ) i drove it Greece once a few Frace trips, but mainly Germany for Frans Maas Tilbury. Unfortunatly, ive lost most of my photos of it.

It’s a ferry in Scotland that charges for vehicle length so they shorten the vehicles and pile them high. Last Long Haul slide show had a feature on it.
This shot is dated 1966, I started for Waugh’s in 1972 not long after the AEC had been sold on. It’s a poor shot but it brings back memories of what was a great time in my working life. The company that built that load ( Bushing Co.) no longer exist and the factory is now being re-developed for housing. Regards Kev.

Reminds me of watching lorries being loaded onto local ferry in Tenerife. As far as I know there are no weighbridges on the island, resulting in 40-foot trailers carrying 20 tonnes of concrete blocks with another 20 tonnes of bottled water on top.
