Hello again,heres a few from me,Cheers Bubbs,
Hi Bubbs
Nice pics The F86 always looked well balanced as a six wheeler IMO. The twin headlight ones looked even better…
Trent Wharfage is a blast from the past - what happened to them? Based in Sharpness if memory serves correctly
Todays meagre slice from me… A ‘power-packed’ tipper… 300bhp!
That would just about drag along a 7.5 tonner nowadays…
A couple of Comments.
I’m sure Trent Wharfage started in Gainsborough Lincs sometime in the 60s,and opened a depot on the Severn at Sharpness later PB.
And the North West Carriers Iveco is one of Illtyd Thomas’ from Swansea, although I remember them in the old livery.

Can remember backloading from Trent Wharfage a few times, usually coconut matting from Gamston airfield, off the A1.
Got to be 20+ years ago though.
Hi Chris
Yeah, sorry. I didn’t explain myself very well… I meant to say that my local Trent base was Sharpness - I didn’t know they started in Gainsborough though… Do you know if they got swallowed up by a conglomerate or just fizzled out?
My meagre offering today…lets have a race!
Cheers Phil.

That’s a great photo of an AEC MK3 Phil. I would hazard a guess at a Pickfords contract motor.

Hi again,great pics Phil…well done,heres a few more bits from me.Cheers Bubbs,
Tony McGovern bought a batch of them 331 8 wheelers and cut some down to 6x4 tractors. At the time MAN never offered such a truck and they had to submit technical drawings to the department of transport to get type approval.
MAN sent some of there designers and engineers from germany to look at them and were most impressed at the work. All designed and done by mcgoverns very talented fitter Mick Fahy

Hiya erfguy…i found 2 more photo’s of McLucas lorries(1 albion and 1 erf A series)but someone has taken the AEC off
so i never bothered to post these other 2. i looked up McLucas’s address and found they’re still operating so i took a look
on Google earth and was surprised to see the yard still with lorries operating… top notch firm.
