Wonderful pictures Oiltreader Do you know if the colour picture of the Conbloc F86 6 wheeler is the same as the black & white one ? If it is do you remember Terry Payne? he was an owner driver who had that lorry and I bought it from him many years ago, I seem to think he emigrated to america or somewhere
Trev.
Kingston Minerals tippers, I think they may later have become part of the Amey lot, toshboy will right me on that.

They are Bedfords steve, Ameys had a lot of them, and I think that JAMES BREWERS GRAINS used them as well.

Hi lemonmouth, I knew some drivers who worked on Ameys but not the Conbloc div, the volvo in the b&w photo would have been same livery as the colour photo.

This Guy or one very similar brought back memories to my first driving job back in 1973,I went to Didcot every day and would see it but never getting an opertunity to photograph it myself…well done Oiltreader for posting it and the others.By the way most of the black and white pics you’ve put up with the NA3T watermarks on them were taken by my great pal Adrian Cypher who did a great job of photographing them.
Cheers Bubbs,

Hi Steve. Im pretty sure that those trucks are Bedfords .the normal control cabs were removed and replaced with a forward control cab ,giving a longer body and payload – Neville conversions IIRC --Ameys were full of ideas !! —toshboy

Ameys Wootton workshop.

To clarify this fine shot–this one was taken after Hansons abandoned Ameys at Wootton and was previously the Premix workshops —later taken over by WOOTTON TRUCKS who operated a Foden repair business -hence the lack of any visible Amey vehicles - at this time the Amey name had gone. —toshboy
As we seem to have a run on removals here is a trailer I found on the A1 at Leeming Bar.
Passed the unit a bout a mile further on ! (Good job he noticed)
OH DEAR !!!
Hope you like it Jakey ?
