scotland

Any body know who does runs up to Scotland regular from the midlands?
I’m from Coventry and I know slam transport do some trips but is there any other outfits?

I’ve done Livingston and falkirk which I enjoyed,So wouldn’t mind another bash.

cheers

Starting to see a lot more of Bannister trucks from Bradford up in Scotland…

See a lot of Amazon trailers beading up that way guessing they are heading to Dunfermline with all the returns…

My lot do it fairly regular but it’s my gig so hands off

I do at least one Scotland run every week for the company you mention.

Last week was 2 trips there from Peterborough and Doncaster. With one day doing just Dunfermline to Livingston to Dundee.

Made the week go very quickly.

When you go up the 74 everyday the novelty soon wears off , anyway its not really Scotland until you have past Glasgow or Edinburgh

Never gets any shorter that road

Even with a good limiter, can’t imagine doing it at 52 like some plobbers.

I’d love job going Scotland and back all the time… I’d of thought any driver would do not much traffic nice scenery etc

The traffics definately lighter its just that 74 is never ending and the surface is knackered in some places, i love it further up its just that bit between Carlisle and Motherwell that does my head in

Only down side is I always miss pop master as radio reception isn’t best up there.

Something wrong with your radio unless you’re talking about a particular spot where you have trouble, e.g. the south side of the M25 around J7!

From the midlands, can’t see many doing that unless its double manned, Man to Glasgow is just sort or 4 hours on a good run.

We used to do Scotch regular out of the Naylors depot in Methil Fife. Sometimes run up from Barnsley with a stock transfer on Sunday/Monday and stay up there delivering all around Scotland then fetch a stock transfer back down on the Friday.
I loved it been all over Scotland been as far as you can go up to Thurso, right up to Achfary up N/W Scotland, over to the Outer Hebrides to South Uist, over to Tobermory on the Isle Of Mull and down to Tarbert in Argyle and Bute. What I would class as the “ real Scotland” is once you get past the central belt of the M8 and you are heading up the A9 Perth/Inverness/Thurso or anywhere up the Highlands same as Argyle and Bute where the scenery is stunning and is a pleasure to drive, when driving these roads it’s when you enjoy being a truck driver.
The N/W of Scotland is a lot more rugged with a lot more stunning scenery than the N/E of the country. We hardly get up there now as we don’t run out of Methil and I do miss it but I can say I’ve seen more or less all the best parts of a fantastic part of the UK

I am sure Warrens, from Rugby have umpteen loads up to Scotland every day. Stan Robinson, Stafford, IDS in eavsham plenty more but cant remember at the moment…great bear/ Culina…Mueller…Gist/M&S… mostly RDC deliveries and not plodding about seeing our beautiful country, (when its not raining)

Canute at Baginton were doing some when I was on agency there last Winter and they were quite good at giving drivers the type of work they wanted to do. It wasn’t my thing although I’ve done a lot of Scottish work in the past and it’s fantastic once you get above Edinburgh/Glasgow.
