Thanks for that nugget of information bma. Next question---- out of the 4700 what % would have been shipped to the UK bearing in mind that the first ones didn’t arrive here until 66/67 ? surely not the '000’s that “newmercman” claimed !!! Cheers Dennis.
don,t think so mainpart where sold in scandinavia and in nl the first year,s,the first common scannie where more likely 110

think moust of british sold scanias came from zwollle ,the prodution started there in 65 ,qite near to britain from there ,and the cabover was designed to the european market in first place, seems from survived that moust of the motors in britain was schort cab 4x2,cheers bma(ps lock at bill,s commersial earlier on this side 2000 scanias in britain year1972 )
Dennis, the 000’s of LBs in England came from the advert that BMA mentions, it’s back a couple of pages

Had a quick backward browse NMM but couldn’t just find it ! But surely there can’t/wasn’t 000’s of LB76’s imported because the new,at the time,110 was introduced in '68 so the LB76 was only imported for a couple of years ! Cheers Dennis.

Probably a good guess and about right I’d say ! The LB76’s all seemed to be running in the big fleets of the time possibly as “seed vehicles” and Scania were really looking ahead to launching the 110 which would be more readily accepted after the reliable service given by the 76 !!Cheers Dennis.
That cutting is on this page , just go back a bit.

I think Stellan that is the carriers licence number for Belgium, i dont think it is anything to do with mathematics mate.Bang on the money there Bill, the Belgies always had those numbers marked on the sides of their motors, I think the V prefix denotes international, which is plausible if you think about the Flemish language
“V” means vergunning, you also had “P” for local transport, for a radius of 30 kms from base
if I remember well
Thanks for the info dcal.

No but my sisters husband 2004 - 2009 and some guys from our area.
They have also subcontractors from Ostrobotnia.
I had once sand for watercleaning on pallets from Sweden (RÃ¥da Sand) witch was their cargo, I had also the filterunit.
