Just got giving a 08 scania r480 and the side locker won’t open as the cable has snapped. Is the any other way of opening it from the inside as I don’t want to break the lock as well. Had a good look around bit couldn’t see any thing.

Can you not access it by lifting the lower bunk up?
lift up the bunk should be a wooden plate over the locker held in place by 4 screws, now I will add that was on my 4 series but can’t see that they have changed it that much but I could be wrong 
A couple of ours have done that before. Our mechanic has replaced the cable in 10 mins so can’t be a hard job to do. In the meantime you can lift the bunk to get access.
Easy lift up the bunk look down where the lock mechanism is undo the 2 torx bolts the door will open. Drill out the 2 rivets on the stainless steel plate to reveal the lock mechanism trip the lock with a screwdriver to release the catch bolt this back on the door replace the cable and jobs done
