Hi all,

Is it possible to retrofit a retarder onto a Scania manual gearbox? I have a 2007 R560 with the GRS905 gearbox but no retarder.

i would think its possible but difficult to retro the scania retarder the coolant pipes alone are at least £500 then the in cab stalk and probably different gms (gbox black box) +wiring etc etc dont know about a voith or telma■■? you must have serious brake wear issue to consider the mod on an 8yr old vehicle.

I’ve just bought it, Ideally I’d have bought one already fitted, but I couldn’t turn this one down as the price was right. I was just asking the question to see if anyone had done it. It’s not a big problem without it, but if it would be possible that I’d look into it
