Hi lads can any of you operators that run Scania R440 ad blue model 2013 give any advice on them , I know the egr model has a few problems but is the scr model any better or worse in reliability and fuel .
i have learned to steer away from 440, pay few quid more and get 450…these days you can get mint euro6 top line for under 20k with no more than 600k km…thats about run in Scania…was driving one with 1.3mil at work with busted thermostat, always running cold, oil like milk…that think was running like dream!
I have a 2013 SCR 480 with around 550k. Have had no engine trouble, but had 2 nox sensors and one dosing module though. People who know tell that the SCR ones are much longer lived.
The euro 6. 450 seems a good truck, but I’m not sure where you get one that’s not been to the moon for 20k.
Mine’s not good on fuel, (6.75 on average) but runnig heavy in very hard territory West Coast Scotland
John, there were 2 2015 on ebay other day with 600k, 19900 and other one 23900, price on classic Scania is dropping now as everyone wants new gen…

Cheers. I don’t ever go within 300 miles of anywhere that requires euro 6, but sounds as though there are bargains to be had. Having and said that, i bought some trailers from a dealer a couple of months ago and he was trying to sell 17 plate (old model cab) 450s with low 200k at £54k!!!
