Last friday i saw a R cabbed scania heading east on hwy 1 through manitoba towards winnipeg, not sure if it was a 113 or 143, as i was west bound i did’nt get a long look, it was blue and pulling a curtainsider with the scania logo on the curtain, has anyone else seen it on their travels, first time i have seen a scania over here and an old one at that, someone else must have seen it at some time!
there were rumours of a 143 being run by a guy in the nyc area a good while ago bet that gets right up most yanks noses when they hear a proper truck lol
The only scania i personally know of is currently in bits inside of a Halliburton warehouse, and has been there for some time. Unless they are specced or upgraded to a stronger chassis construction, they just dont last too long over here.
There is quite a few Scanias in New Jersey. Just about every time im there i see some. Mostly used as dump trucks, some pulling containers. Scania tried to sell them here some 20 years ago.
haliburton up in n alberta have a foden 6x4 rigid tanker ,last saw it near grande prairie/high level, also seen red actros by edmonton pulling oilfield trailor.
,x105 pulling a demo games trailor (xbox i think , last yr)

no pics sorry.jimmy…
hi .
in the early nineties i used to see a few scania 112 day cab units, they were 6x4 with extra long wheelbase chassis, they ran from newyork city to st albans vermont, one driver told me that the 142 wouldnt pass american emission standards, dont know how true that was though, but he was well impressed with his little scania
cheers diesel

I remember sitting in your Chevy Malibu with you in july 1992 and there were three green Scanias sitting at the light going the other way
There are loads of older scanias in NJ and if you talk to an O/O with one theyr have the same answer … If I can’t get it fixed when it breaks or can’t get another one I will give up driving.
