it was a red un with motorsport across the front and the american drivers couldnt believe you could be weeks away in it one even said it would be a good day motor shifting boxes outta the docks up in ny state.i had to chuckle
Yep, Yep thats the article Coffee and Carl, how come no-one remembered it last go around we had discussing it.
Pat almost had me believing Iād imagined it, I think Iāll have to go through all my old trucking mags now, see if I canāt dig it out. If I can get the Mags name ( Iām sure it was T&D, but if not, then it had to be Trucking ) whoever did it, Iāve still got it somewhere, cause I donāt throw anything away, especially my old trucking mags (got almost all T&Dās over the last 20 yrs, and about half again of Truck, Trucking, headlight.etc, whoops, I digress again ) If I find it, and contact the owner of the rights to the story and ask for permission to put it on here (hoping theyāll say yes) then maybe someone can help me put it on, 'cause Iām a bit of an imbecile with these new fangled computer thingys. Although I could send it to Andy M, heās good at this stuff, we could have a special thread for photos, stories etc of Euro trucks in the USA, and have it on on this forum only. what dāya think?

I must have missed the thread last time around, first time Iāve seen it mentioned is this thread.
Iāll overlook that admission of slack work ethics Mr Coffee!
Actually It last went ā aroundā on the old forums, just before we opened the new siteā¦if my memory serves me correctly
As it was over a year ago I guess you can be excused this time
Over her ein Arizona, I have had reports from other drivers who work for my firm, that htye have seen some very āweirdā looking cabovers recently. One that was described sounded very like a Merc Actros, the other sounded like a Volvo FH. I have seen a Scania Topliner floating around, its on Mexican plates, so is prolly up here for just short periods, its kinda battered and bruised, but its still a Scanny.
These American drivers donāt know a good truck when they see one, I have a Renault magnum on my computer background at work and EVERYONE laughs at it, says it looks like crap and its uglyā¦!!! The cheek of them. I quickly inform them, that if I could have one of those āuglyā trucks over ehre, I would become an owner/operator TOMORROWā¦!!! Iām sure that will mean a whip round to see if they can raise the cash to buy me one so I can get lost, but what can you doā¦!!
Any pics of Euro trucks on American roads would be greatly appreciated.
Be safe
Stu
Stuart, Iāve got some pics I can get copied of that old dog of an Iveco that I 've already mentioned, I also have a few āiffyā shots of the Olive Garden Magnum on I285 in Atlantaā¦any good to ya?
I nearly forgot, I also have some pics of a rusting right hand drive Ford D series complete with Tacho on the dash, I ā found ā it at the back of a container yard here in Atlanta.
Send 'em Cliffā¦!!
I have seen a Merc Actros driving north on I-87 and also a Volvo FM
i saw a 1990 ish looking scania rigid in philadelphia today. it was a model iāve never seen before, not at all like the tippers i see in north jersey.
Donāt tell me A white three axle box van with a bigger ā142ā style cab, I have often seen it heading down there.
Well, when I get out and about (which looks like mid/late Jan) Iāll keep my digital camera ($150 from wally world) to hand, and snap any āwierdā trucks I spot. And post pics on allikat.andmuchmore.com which is my lil web site. The site has bandwidth limits for now, so donāt expect miracles.
Iāve not seen anything too wierd just yet, aside from a ford Cargo bumming around Winnipeg.
pat, it was a white one but it had a bit of graffiti on it. and it was a two axle unit. i saw it in the china town area (around 5th and race). sorry it took a while to get back, this semesterās class schedule really clashes with my work which means no sleep and no freetime.
whoops, i think this went on the wrong thread
maybe not, maybe iāll catch up on my sleep at work tonite.
