Scania 470 reviews

Anyone running a 470 lot of them about at sensible money is this for a reason.

420 with remap would be choice but the 470 is much cheaper to buy than the 420

Personally id get a newer 440 as they pull better and are better on fuel

What’s difference between 440 and 480 though had 480 and was not very good on fuel or pulling

Not sure the 440 always had a hood reputation. Didn’t the 470 die. Out with the introduction of the r series I had an 04 470 and loved it its was a great truck

The 470 4 series a turbocompound engine.

yes was a good motor too as long as you cleaned the oil spinner out

Hmm we had two of them over the years. And one of them has got its 5th or6th motor in it. But its sold now and i dont know what is up to now,but its taxed so maby its still working. And my old girl we had to change 2 motors. And a whole lot of other problems as well. Its now living in Iran i think.

The 440 is possibly the worst engine ever to go into a Scania, better fuel and pulling power from a 420, any 470’s left about now are going to be high mileage and nearing the end of their lives.

420 with proper remap it is tried and tested had one before and very happy

.

As said above 124 470 turbo compound and early r series 470. Same engine more or less than a 420 hpi. If I was going to get 1 myself the first thing I would do is get the turbo compound over hauled ( new bearings ) when hpi give fuel problems can be a pain in The bottom to get sorted.
