I have to say these are an inspired choice of posting, Mandator! I have re-posted this picture on the ERF European thread to illustrated how the LHD Scammells, Leylands, AECs, Fodens and Atkinsons of the late '60s paved the way for ERF’s ventures into Europe. Great pics, mate! Robert
I live just around the corner from the old Scammell factory, and it was ironic to see a Scammell tipper taking away the rubble as the factory was demolished in the early 90’s, don’t know if this was arranged specially.

Great shot of another Watford Motor I wonder if it is an ex Siddle Cooks from Consett, Its a Durham Reg, ■■?, Regards Larry.
Here is an Aussie Scammell Crusader [badged Leyland] one of 2 which the company I worked for in Derby Western Aus owned, both were powered by 318hp 8V71 Detroits had 15speed o/drive Fullers this one had Maudsley hub reduction rear axles 60mph the other which I drove had Leyland hub reduction axles 53mph.
They both pulled 3 trailer single deck cattle trailer road trains in the West Kimberly were worked hard and did a reasonable job in a tough environment.
Cheers Dave
cattle wagon man:
The driver of the Scammell Pioneer was very lucky to survive such a bad accident.
it shows just how well-built those old Scammells are.Talking of solidly-built Scammells ,…here`s a photograph of KD 9168 , one of the 2 Scammell 100 tonners.
This proud example resides in the British Commercial Vehicle Museum , Leyland.Cheers , cattle wagon man.

One of many that Currie & Co operated in the 40/50s era, Regards Larry.
I delivered to King Trailers, Market Harborough earlier this week, after I had filled their Liquid Oxygen tank I went to see the chap for a signature & found this little beauty parked inside (they have the original trailer too), 1 of the blokes who works there has bought it, he got it off a farmer who has been using it for who knows how many years carrying various animal feeds etc up & down the road & round his farm. She runs perfectly, Perkins powered, & was originally new to Hodgson Tannery. Chris

After the recent ergo thread and now the Guy one just wondered if people had any thoughts on the products from this part of the British Leyland stable.
Not so much the heavy stuff but the normal size trucks.
I spent a fair bit of my childhood in the passenger seat of various routemans so have some good memorys.
Odd few from my collection, but still more in the photo albums yet to put on the computer

Morning all,
She is my old girl…parked in far cleaner surroundings than my Spider filled Barns. I`ve done a fair few miles in her, and she has carried some fair old weights.
Wonderful concept, and really could have been developed and uprated for latter day requirements…Lack of managerial vision…
Cheerio for now.
