I’ve driven that beast, just the once. Ex military I think and it had the low loader to go with it.
MOC had a photo on the previous page of SUH 138Y in white with a FERRYMASTERS Trailer here’s another shot of it in Yellow it has been in Sanquhar for a long number of years it was parked outside the Creamery then the chap who has it got a big shed and it has now spent a few years undercover I am hopeing to pay a visit and maybe get a photo of her present condition. On the DVLA site she is still listed but the colour is Blue according to them so it must have had another owner at some point as she was in yellow all her time in Sanquhar. Hope to have a follow up on this. Eddie.

I’ve had a request to remove some pictures I found on the Internet from this thread, and whilst working through to find the offending pics I was amazed and saddened to see just how many pics have been removed from other peoples contributions to this thread as well as mine.
I used to delight in finding these pics and reposting for others to enjoy but all the pleasure has gone from it now.
That’s a shame Steve, so many get enjoyment and memories from these shots, I’m still hoping I will see a shot of one I drove for BRS
KJO 461 N it started life on the rental fleet and got passed on to contracts when it was painted in Midlands BRS colours.

Evening all, Stevecook, Im sad that this has happened, I believe that you are not alone with this problem. The whole thing of “copyright” would appear to owe more to personal ego than any other salient fact!!
If someone has the technological ability to post “their” images on the internet, surely if they wish them to be shown as “theirs”, then put your name across the image, to show “its mine, am I not clever, see…its mine…Im the top man”!!!(as many do, and no hard feelings to them).
This site is a broad church, we all have different backgrounds, and abilities, but we all share an interest! And I for one, enjoy every ones input, written, or photographic, and some have more time than others to research this “electronic filing cabinet”, and bring to a larger audience its riches.
So, to those whose egoes are bruised, why on earth did you post your images in the first place??
If its there, let us share…or do you want money for them■■? Well…
There is a Black Country expression for such people, but Im too well mannered, and “mature”, to use ot! Cheerio for now.
IMHO the sad ■■■■■■■■ that make a “meal” out this copyright bull ■■■■ have never ever been involved,in any shape or form whatsoever, within the the transport industry ! Apart from maybe hanging around M/way services or various operators premises on a Saturday.Whatever is the harm in re-posting any relevant “aged” shot on this TN site,I ask you ? I would also place a fair bet that the “origional” photographer never asked for premission from the operator,or if he did he never saw fit to “offer a drink” for the priviledge of being allowed to take the shot in the first place ! Funny, when I raise this latter point with “the copyright brigade” they never respond ! The bunch of areosols !! Cheers Bewick.

hi dennis,
as usual you have written your point clearly i agree with you and saviem 100 percent,if a picture is yours and you want to retain copyright, then watermark it if you don’t watermark and you still post, don’t complain with regard to my own pictures people can, will and already have done/do whatever they want with them.i do get a little embarrassed though, when someone who has loaned pictures for truck net rings me and says that they are on ebay this whole copyright issue is a minefield.google has given me pictures, where is the copyright law then?i also understand the mods position on this problem,as legal fees can be a very costly business
regards andrew.

Agree with all of the above. If someone is making a living out of selling photographs, then fair enough- they must watermark them before putting them on the internet. In a similar vein, if the content is in a book, then it is unfair on the author to distribute his work, without him getting his wages. However, if someone uploads his stuff to the internet, it is there for everyone. If another person can make a wage out of flogging prints at the shows, so what?
There is site which has complained about their watermarked pictures being shown on TNUK- what must they be thinking? Surely,if the watermarked prints are there on their own site, for the purpose of advertising the unmarked pictures for sale, then people spreading them round the ‘net is free advertising?

I can only assume you are right about the ego business attached to the “ownership” of these pictures, as I can’t see one logical reason why it’s OK for ANYONE to view them on the accredited website but when someone has moved them to another site where a common interest in these pictures lies it’s not OK!
After all TN is mostly a collection of guys who have worked with these machines and scarce pictures and memories are all that now remains of them.
