Somewhere in the Manc area next week a transport company is expecting trouble. I’ve been offered a weeks work there, B&B paid. Personally, you couldn’t pay me enough to scab even though I’m scrabbling about now. Any ideas who this company is?

Is this meant to be a cryptic question or are you trying to avoid the “my mate told me that this firm are going bust” type thread which will get locked/deleted?
I’m sure if you give out more details we might work it out
So ? Do the work. These guys won’t pay your bills for you will they? Their beef is with someone else not you.

Probably best dealt with by way of PMs, because rumours WILL be removed as per forum rules.

You must be young, matey.
One word. Strikebreaker.
Try googling “miners strike”. That should do it.

+1
As it is at the minute, I’m sure there will be plenty of people willing to do the job. Would consider it myself but may want to know what the problem is. If its a case of Joe Bloggs had been sacked for claiming sick when hes not and the rest are supporting him saying its unfair, then deffo do the job.
LOL. Saying nowt(ex Tesco, Donny driver)
i’v got a scab on my knee from when i fell out the pub door but it wasnt in manchester

This Manchester company wouldn’t be by chance?
I don’t know who it is that’s why I asked you lot! But I was offered the chance to go. Not my scene, undermining other workers. ■■■■ the bills!
So a scab is basically someone who should be on strike by sticking together with their colleagues but then decides to I back to work??
A scab is anyone who crosses a picket line, be that staff or agency/outside of the company.
If you fall out of a pub door in Madchester & slightly graze your knee, a scab is surely what will form.
A scab is a scab, is a scab, is a scab !
It is totally up to the individual in the circumstances, whether or not it cross’s a picket line.
No one can make that decision for you, it is for you & you alone to decide.
Even after all these years, there is still a distinct & separate seating area in my Notts/Derbys border ‘pit’ villages pub. One side for the workers & one side for the scabs.

Oooh that looks nasty . . bit of Savlon should clear that up - but its on your John Thomas, methinks its time to get the Brillo pad and Domestos out
oh i see, its a northern thing, mines, cole, throw the budgie down and all that. Like off Billy Elliot when he goes back down the mines to pay for Billys ballet lessons and his other son is throwing bricks at the bus and ■■■■.
