My heart goes out to all the families of those poor innocents murdered in Paris last night, all this in the name of a twisted religion .
I know its not a wagon, but it’s an evocative photo none the less, and ties in with the old cars David Junior posted…
I’ve been served by a chap like this on a few occasions in the past…
Hi David,
Great photos of the French cars from my youth - perhaps not from yours, you only being a young lad! A chum of mine had a Renault 16, with the ‘umbrella handle poking from the dashboard’ gearstick. We also learned on that car all about the French wiring. Those lovely pastel shades, difficult to tell apart unless the light is perfect! I remembered that car when working on the Saviem wiring some 10 years later.
John.
Hiya,
One car I didn’t see listed was the Renault Dauphine, now that was a rot box,
a workmate of mine swore by it for reliability but within a year of it being
bought new rust was showing and during the following fibreglass repairs had
begun, he did keep the car for many years and I think it must have been 90%
plastic bodied when I think his local MOT station refused to even think about
putting it on the ramp for fear of the ramp raising and the motor staying put.
thanks harry, long retired.

Friend of mine had a Renault Dauphine Gordini, like you say Harry a proper rot box, but wow! It went like ■■■■ off a stick. Regards Kev.
Again I know it’s not a lorry but it’s a Peugeot and French
This is “Peggy” my 1994 306 D Turbo
21 years of age and still going strong and not an ounce of rust on her nor never been welded

Hiya,
Yea’ Kev I never got a go in this one (it lived in Stanley) but got a lift home
after work one night “you could see the road through the floor” he assured
me it was a job for the weekend as the MOT was due, but it did go well.
thanks harry, long retired.

I echo you statement totally Fergie, a bunch of murdering cowards gunning down unarmed innocent people. R.I.P. Regards Kev.
Hiya,
Sorry for the late replay, but thanks for the info gents, much appreciated
Fergie agree 100% with you regards the Paris incident as I think the whole world does yet in this country of ours that you no longer abide in we permit buildings for these faiths to pray in, there is definitely something amiss here and we need to open our eyes, how can these atrocities continue to be carried out and no real action is taken. Britain is already a multi cultural nation and I am at an age where it will not concern me for too much longer but what of our grandchildren and there futures that’s what bothers me.
Fearful as it is we will more than likely see such a disaster in the UK in the not to distant future the problem being that the mad people doing this have no value on life including there own and all in the name of religion, how can any sane person believe this is right and proper way of carrying on, sad very sad, Buzzer.

You are so right John, I and millions of others agree with you, the only idiots that don’t run the country supported by left wing do-gooders…
Don’t want to get too heavy on a truck site, but do you remember a song around the '70’s by a group called Thunderclap Newman ? …there’s a line that goes something like :-
"hand out the arms and ammo, cause there’s something in the air "
Well, I recon the time is here…
Like you John, l feel for my children and grandchildren…

And an excellent book by Sir John Hackett…“The third world war”… written in 1982, very accurate description of how it would start…and he’s not wrong…worth a read…

Hey Johnnie, it was Henschel which built the twin steer dubble drives.
This hasn’t one surely, it’s my colleague 240hp 6 speed ZF.
