To France…via Buzzer in Southampton! That Squibb Relax Cab looks like a 12 litre…any idea where she came from…a rare lorry in the UK. Was Jim Squibb the famous Speedway Rider?
Fergie, what is this bike rally that you are going too?..not for the fans of those gross noisy US iron machines I trust…(some of your Southampton friends seem to think that those “Gardners on two wheels” are real motorcycles)…how misguided can you be?..Could you perhaps take a few pictures to show us all?
John…As Buzzer said, Jim Squibb was a ( very good ) speedway rider…

The bike meet this Friday /Saturday in a small village called PORCARO. its an event held over 2 days. Camping, bands, hog roast, etc…On the second day, you can, if you wish, have you and your bike blessed by priests in the morning, followed by a ride out of between 80 /100 kms through towns and villages in the area in the afternoon. This brings out thousands of people, who in the towns line the streets to see the 20 / 25,000 bikes ride through, in the countryside they put tables and chairs out on the verge or in their gardens to watch them go by, babes in arms, to the very elderly, it really is something to watch, and even better to take part in. Not often you can ride with 20,000 bikers for an afternoon !
There is plenty of video on Utube, as well as this link…google.co.uk/search?q=porca … fPmo8cCFWy
To wagons, S T G, very big company still, I see them all over Brittany, plain white Volvo’s now, but always tidy, as are many of the Breton based hauliers.
